Buying a bulk of Disney gift cards.. where to do it?

We are going in June and would like to buy gift cards to distribute amongst our travel party for food, merch etc... other than going to a disney store and pay face value, is there a place to buy in bulk with some discount (us10k)

can I do this in a Target/ the red debit card?

(Flying from Mexico, therefore no time to buy in advance)

That's quite a bit of $$$. I don't think a Target store will permit you to make such a large GC purchase at one time. The potential for fraud is just too great. There is a corporate rate for GCs but you can't order and receive them immediately.

Most stores in the US limit daily gift card purchases even at face value due to concern about illegal activity, money laundering, theft, etc. Places offering discounts usually make that a perk of being a frequent shopper and belonging to their club and still place daily limits on those purchases. Stores selling gift cards below face value want to encourage other purchases to make it worth their while. It is unlikely you will be able to buy $10,000 worth of gift cards at a discount in any single purchase.

I just bought $4K in gift cards in one transaction at a local grocery store. I had to fill out some paperwork and show my ID. Depending on what each store's limit is, you could probably just buy to the limit at each store and then go to the next store and do the same.

Sam's Club has $500 value Disney gift cards. The last time I bought over $2000 worth of gift cards, the manager asked me what I was planning to use them on, then gave the cashier the approval to scan them.

If you have a Target redcard you can buy 3 GC's at a time online so $1500. I'm not sure if you can do multiple transactions in one day or if you have to spread them out.
You can get a physical GCs when you get here and then transfer over the amounts from the digital ones over to those on the Disney GC site.
**I have no idea if there is a limit on the $ amount you can transfer to a GC though, so definitely read all the rules before buying them just in case it's way below your amount**
I plan on doing this with a much smaller dollar amount and thought it was worth mentioning to you as an option.

BJ's Warehouse or Sam's Club has worked best for us. When we ordered them last year around Thanksgiving, BJ's Warehouse has a free one-day online membership you can sign up for. That's what we used to order the gift cards.
