We toured DVC units last year with a very nice guide, but initially decided to hold off purchasing. This year we called again to look onto SSR. We were directed to the same helpful guide. We ultimately decided to purchase resale. When the sale is completed, will we be assigned the same guide we delt with in the past. Will she be as eager to help now that we have purchesed from a reseller?:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

"Guide" is a term DVC uses for their sales consultants. Unless you plan on purchasing from DVC directly, you will not need any further contact with a guide.

You will keep the old guide, some are more helpful than others if you bought resale. While you generally will not need the guide unless you want to purchase, that is not completely true. DVC utilizes the guides to help with various aspects of the membership. I know DVC has had a our guide call me on two separate occasions over the years in regards to questions I had about my membership.

We had one guide when we viewed VB years ago. we ultimatley purchased resale and our guide was the same women that we toured VB with. She also sends us information about buying more pts. etc.....................

although we don't have contact with her she was very nice!!

I just wanted to add to make sure there was no confusion on the part of the original poster.

The guide is the salesperson who sells you DVC points. After I bought from Disney, I have not talked to my guide since, though I get postcards from him to let me know that they're now selling BCV, SSR, etc.

The people you do talk to a lot after buying is Member Services. And when you call them, they just know that you're a member (by your membership number). I've never had them treat me any differently from one call to another...they've all been very nice and professional when making reservations, cancelling reservations, changing reservations, banking and borrowing points, etc.

We own point purchased directly from Disney and another contract we purchased via resale.

So if you, by any chance, meant will Disney treat you differently because you bought resale, the answer is absolutely not.
