Hallo,
This is our first trip to Disney and I've been reserching prices. I've checked ticketmania, the price they quote is the same as the travel agent pamphlets. Can someone explain to me why I should purchase thru ticketmania, like a lot of you folks do? Am I missing something or is it an exchange rate thing that makes the difference. Would the local TA have a locked in rate that is not as good as the daily rate that my credit card would charge the day of my purchase?? Help!!!!

Thanks
J

I do know that if you subscribe to mousesavers newsletter (free thru e-mail) there are often additional discounts available on the ticketmania prices. The site & the newsletter are very helpful in addition to wdwinfo & these boards and allearsnet, of course.

hi barb45,

I'm looking for Disney passes only. My flights are booked with Air miles and rooms(on site) with TA. Now I'm looking for our entertainement portion of our trip. The one page pamphlet I mentioned in the original post is for the new ticket prices that was intruduced in Jan.'05. WE will be there for 10 days we are thinking of getting the 4 day MYW premium. THis will give us a few days to relax or go off site to other attractions.

Hi and welcome to the DIS boards!
In the past I've bought my tickets in a number of different ways. Buying online was a snap and I'm planning on doing it that way in the future. As someone mentioned, if you sign up for the newsletter at mousesavers.com
there are usually additional discounts on tickets through ticketmania etc.
I do want to suggest that you buy more than a 4 day ticket. Disney has revamped their ticket pricing so that it's literally only a few dollars more for a 7 day pass than it is for a 4 day. For the small extra cost you have the option of going to the parks - even if only for dinner or Fantasmic or the fireworks etc. I've been to Disney 21 times and 4 days in the parks is the bare minimum for me. If this is your first trip, you definitely need more than 4 days to do the parks. Just my humble opinion. Have a great trip! :sunny:

I agree with NancyK. The only reason I didn't reply right away was that I wanted to look up the difference in prices from Disney. You pay $8.00 more for a 5 day ticket; $11.00 more for a 6 day ticket and only $14.00 more for a 7 day ticket. For $14.00 you can do 3 more park days or like Nancy suggests just pop into the parks for dinner or fireworks whatever - but what a great deal. As far as who is cheaper, I haven't really researched this as we purchased annual passes. My daughter and family are going with us next time and they will absolutely buy the extra day (arrival/departure day) on their tickets because it is just a few extra dollars - from 6 - 8 days is less than $5.00! We'll go do a character dinner or breakfast or something.

Thanks for the advice.

We plan on trying to go with the flow and not get stressed about being able to see everything(I know it's impossible). Our plan was not do Disney everyday, hence the 4 day plus passe= 7days of activities. We also plan on going to Sea World. We have'nt bought the tickets yet, now I'm starting to worry that we might regret not getting more days after we get there. Our reasoning was if we had passes for everyday, we'll need to use them all 'cause the kids will want to go back for more. Getting fewer would mean we could actually relax on vacation.(10 day vaca.-7WDW-1SW-2Travel=tired) I'm not getting No-expiry; not sure we'll ever get back to use them.
