Buy Insurance online or call?

I'm getting ready to make my final payment and I have to make a decision about the insurance. I know I have to get it before my final payment. I was wondering if it is simple enough to do on line or should I call. I only need to insure the cruise, since we will be driving.

Can I get my insurance with DCL even though I booked with Expedia? Someone told me that it might be cheaper using DCL because of the flat rate of $59 adult and $49 child instead of a percent like some companies do.

Any advice will be grateful.

Compare DCL's price with the prices and coverage at www.insuremytrip.com Then you can decide which is better.

If you buy the insurance independantly and have a wreck on the way to the port and get delayed, it should be covered. If you buy DCL's and get delayed, I don't know if it is. That is something to ask about if driving.

Just make sure you know exactly what is insured..before you purchase before you make your final decision.

You can get insurance after your final payment through a 3rd party insurer, which is recommended anyway.

Two excellent companies are:

http://www.travelinsured.com

The thinking on the 3rd party vs Disney is core specialty. These companies do nothing but insurance, however, DCL is in the cruise business and offer it as a side item (probably to make a few extra $$ and match other lines). Besides, I wouldn't insure my car with Toyota.
