Buy AP pass before prices rise or will they send me a discount to renew???

Hi there!! I know one of you on here will be able to answer this question for me....

My hubby and I have SoCal Select Annual Passes that expire on October 1st. I've read that APs are expected to be going up from $134 to $144 (next Sunday?). My first question is....does Disney give any discounts, through email or otherwise, for people to renew their annual passes??

And my second question is....Should I go to the Disney Store tomorrow and purchase new APs at the old price $134 or or will Disney send any links, etc. to purchase them at a discounted rate??

Where should I purchase them????

I think they usually send out an offer before your AP expires where you can renew for a little cheaper than the going rate. At least that's what they did for us several years ago. I thought I read recently that you can't renew unless you're within 30 days of your expiration date so I don't think you would be able to do it yet.

The price is already up - went up on the 1st.
Now I just got my renewal letter in the mail yesterday - and it still had the old price. Not sure how long that will continue. As for discounts, deluxe and above get $20 off. And I believe all levels get a 20% off a purchase of $50 or more coupon per renewed pass.

I'm not sure if the Disney store will have the old price - tend to doubt it, but you might want to check. I ran to Costco when I heard of the increase instead and got the Deluxe pass for $269 including a $50 disney gift card. I won't cash it in until sometime after I expire in Sept. ( although it expires on 10/31 - so before that!)

I'd say whether to dash out and try to save the $10 each is only worth it if you plan to go soon after your Oct 1 expiration. Otherwise you may as well wait until you are going to go - if it's more than 1 month out, that $134/12 > $10 so you save the $10 anyway by waiting in a manner of thinking.
