Buy a FL resident silver annual pass?

Would there be any cost savings for me to purchase regular tickets and then upgrade once we get to disney? I want to be able to make our fastpasses for our 5 day trip coming up in Sept. I already have 1 gold pass I purchased years ago and now just need a silver one for my husband.

There certainly can be, if you order a ticket with a significant discount from a WDW authorized ticket reseller
(like UndercoverTourist.com or ParkSavers.com, etc.) then upgrading to the AP from that ticket.
