Buy a blu ray player or PS3?

You get a sony blue ray for 150 now and the PS3 is down to 199 -to me it is worth the extra $40 to get the ps3....

$199???? I thought the price points for PS3 were $299 (120 GB) and $349 (240 GB).

Whatever you decide - blue ray is totally worth it!

I'd vote for a PS3. Besides the gaming, the biggest draw for me was that the firmware can be updated while I dont know if a stand alone player's firmware can be. I want to make sure I have access to all future options.

It's at least $200 for a good blu-ray player. For the extra $100, the PS3 has upgradable firmware, as well as the gaming system; that's why I have it. My wife is a gamer, too, and she prefers the smaller PS3 controller to the 360 controller. The kids use the Wii, as do we.

My wife's in the gaming industry, so all this stuff is tax deductable to us anyway.
