Butterscotch Beer in a bottle (Butterbeer for home?)

This is awesome news! I'll have to check my local Cracker Barrel. I'm so excited about my trip that I don't think I can wait! Lol

I have some in the refrigerator right now. It does taste very similar to butterbeer and will give you a fix until you get back to Universal. Bought mine at a local natural food store in the Jacksonville area but I did see it in the Halloween ad from World Market, so your local World Market stores may have it too. FYI it is made by Reeds, the company that makes the ginger soda and candy. Not sure JK Rowling's would take kindly to reading the box they come in though, two of the things they mentioned on the box regarding the story of butterscotch beer are Hogsbreath and the Flying Cauldron, a little too close to Hogsmeade and the Leaky Cauldron.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think this is what we bought once (I'm sure it is, there are probably not two copy cats out there :confused3). My family loved it and thought that it tasted a lot like the US drink, but all I could taste was artificial sweetener, which I despise. So, be wary if you don't like that after taste from artificial sweetener. I make a homemade version that we all love, there are many recipes out there.
We will be back in 2 weeks to get the real thing! I'm budgeting at least $100 for butterbeer for 4 days. :rotfl2:

Fyi for anyone curious, the ingredients in this butterscotch beer are- purified carbonated water, cane sugar, vanilla extract , natural caramel, natural flavors, and stevia. It is gluten free and dairy free according to the label. Thought it would be helpful for anyone with allergies that may want to search this out so they would know ahead of time whether they could actually drink it.

I haven't tried mine yet (waiting to find a good topping!), but after reading more reviews, several people mention the artificial sweetener flavor. For the life of me, I just can't understand WHY they would add stevia, when CANE SUGAR is the second ingredient!! I strongly dislike artificial sweeteners, so hope I can't taste the stevia.

Admittedly, I am hypersensitive to the taste of any artificial sweetener, so you may not be able to taste it, but I thought it was strong and disgusting

When I make the homemade version, I use whipping cream and sugar with a tsp or so each of butter and vanilla flavorings (for the topping).Just whip it all together until it has a whipped cream consistency. It's delicious. And if you can't stand the bottled drink, just buy cream soda and add butter flavoring in it... Once you put the topping on it, it's pretty close!

When you say "Butter flavor flavoring", do you mean BUTTER, or Butterscotch?

Butter flavoring... It comes in little bottles like vanilla and almond extract, and can be found in the grocery store in the same section as them. There are more complicated recipes out there that use real butter, but this is really good for how simple it is.

I've heard you can get a Butterbeer Frappuccino from Starbucks if you are looking for a butterbeer fix. Haven't tried it yet but it is definitely on our to do list!

I've ordered the Butterbeer Frapp a couple times thinking it will taste better each time; I don't think it tastes like Butterbeer at all :(
