But We Haven't Lost Last Years Weight Yet! COMPLETED PAGE 32!

I'm loving your reviews! Thanks so much for taking the time to write them - and for eating all this food, LOL!

Woo hoo!! I finally get to post!! I've been following along at work (and can't post there). Is it my imagination, or is your appetite smaller this year?? I'm loving the reviews and can't wait to read about your cruise!!:goodvibes

If you didn't enjoy the pretzel, you may want to try a cream cheese stuffed pretzel next year!! They are SO good!! Sweet, creamy, yummy goodness!!!

I love Wolfgang Puck Express for Breakfast! Can't wait for your review! I got a fantastic omelete, but my son in law and grandson , got a huge waffle topped with fruit and whipped cream! They don't have a kids meal on their breakfast menu, so when they brought out his waffle my grandso (who is 3), said "Ooooohhhhh, is that for me?!";)

Looking forward to more! Hope your sweet doggies are ok and did alright without you for so long!!

Major exciting day!!!! Heard back from the travel agents today . . . and they have refunded the majority of the cost of our flights and hotel!!!!!!! So next years Christmas trip is definitely on! Hoping to get booking ASAP!!!! I am so happy!!! Going to buy myself some Ugg boots for Disneyland Paris as well to keep me all toasty!

So we started today at Wolf Gang Puck express at DTD. I went for the Applewood Smoked Bacon pizza (scrambled egg, bacon, mozzarella, cheddar, and ranch dressing), whilst Tony went for the Breakfast Pocket (scrambled egg, peppers, bacon, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into pizza dough).

I really, really liked mine and would recommend it!! Lovely, light and tasty – but BIG! I think we could have easily shared it!!! I give it 8.5/10. Tony really liked my pizza as well – he wasn’t quite as keen on his breakfast pocket, giving it 7/10 as it was very heavy. I loved the potatoes which came with his dish and ate most of them - I would easily give them a 9/10 (but then I am a potato fiend).

For lunch we returned to one of our favourite places from last year – Chefs De France! We both went for the “French Menu” where you can get all three courses as part of the dining plan.

First course was French onion soup topped with gruyere cheese – this was excellent. Really tasty, and absolutely loads of cheese!!! This was definitely as good as last years – I gave it 10/10, and Tony gave it 9/10.

P1030063.jpg

Entrée was the croquet monsieur (classic French toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a green salad). Tony had this last year and loved it, and the bit I tried was superb, so I had been looking forward to trying it again for a year! And it was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. It was just incredibly heavy, and quite greasy – mainly due to all the extremely generous amount of cheese! As you know I can eat, and I love my cheese usually, but even I found this a bit much! We both give this just 7/10.

P1030064.jpg

On to dessert then. I went for the vanilla crème brule and madelaine, and it was the best crème brule of the trip! It beat California Grill and Le Cellier. Very light and creamy, and the madelaine was delightful! This got 9/10.

P1030069.jpg

Tony went for the profiteroles, which he says were just average – he didn’t like the fact they were filled with ice-cream rather than cream.

P1030070.jpg

As you may know Remi from “Rat-a-toille” (yes, I know that spelling is bad!!) is currently “appearing” in Chefs De France; he is supposed to be taken to each table during lunch and interacts for the guests for a few minutes. Well – this is the closest we got as the lady operating him completely missed our row of tables out!! I was so annoyed! I had been looking forward to this for ages, and had kept it a surprise from Tony!

This place lost a little of its magic for us this year – we both give it 8/10 overall though. Whilst most of the food was Ok, I think I would try some where new in Epcot next year.

Words cannot express how hot this day was – we needed to cool down so thought we would try one of the Kali Gori’s from Japan – its basically a slushy. We went for the multi-favour one; I can’t quite remember but I think it was tangerine, cherry and watermelon. It was very nice and really refreshing, BUT because of the heat it went really melted and sticky quite soon. Also, mainly because I am such a messy person, I found it really hard to eat with the little spoon and kept dropping it on my feet, on Tony, and anyone else in the vicinity! Tony gives it 7/10 and I give it an 8. Nice, but next time I would probably just have a bottle of water!!!

P1030084.jpg

So, we were in Epcot, and there is only one place to go when in Epcot – Norway, more specifically the Kringla Bakeri!!!! I was soooo craving a school bread. We shared one last year and it was the best bakery item I think I had ever tried. We ordered one of those, and also a sweet pretzel- considering the amount of choice on offer I still think we were quite restrained!!!!

Now I knew since last year they had slightly changed the School Bread – adding caramel icing to the top instead of plain, but I love caramel so this wasn’t an issue. Well that was about the only thing that wasn’t an issue!!! The school bread is definitely smaller that it used to be, the bread was very dry, and there was much less creamy filling in the middle. It was a major disappointment, and neither of us would have one again.

P1030103.jpg

I didn’t try the pretzel, Tony ate it all but again, didn’t seem that keen on it, it was a little dry. He gives it 6/10 - 5 for the pretzel, and another one on top because he liked the Norweigan lady in the bakery:rolleyes: !! Norway was a bit let-down this year, and I think my bakery loyalties will go to the French patisserie in future!

P1030101.jpg

We had dinner booked at Trails End, but we didn’t fancy another buffet, so decided to cancel that and head of to visit the love of our life – Beaches n Cream! We got there about 7.30pm, and asked for a table or booth – not counter seat. Waited about 30 minutes which I thought was really good that time of day.

We knew what we were ordering without even looking, which I think impressed our waiter! A double cheeseburger, and a chilli-cheese hotdog, both to share. Both were just lovely, every bit as good as last year! The burger was excellent – 10 from me and 9.5 from Tony. They are just so moist and tasty, and the buns were soft. By far the best burger in the World, and possibly the whole wide world!

P1030116.jpg

The hot dog was also good – absolutely lashings of chilli and cheese, which made it a bit difficult to eat, but I’m not complaining. I give this 9/10 and Tony gives it 8.

P1030117.jpg

Of course, we weren’t coming here and leaving without a sundae!! I had the No Way Hose (A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge Delight with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream and a Cherry ), and Tony went for the Milky Way (Bundt Cake topped with three scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, Whipped Cream and a Cherry). He said this was excellent and gave it 9/10. My No Way Hose was as incredible as I remembered – huge, very sickly, but great!! Imagine thick warm peanut butter, mixing in with chocolate chips, cream and ice-cream. Divine!!!! 9.5/10!

As good as ever, and one we will return to time and time again (including later on in these reviews!!).

Up next we have POFQ breakfast AGAIN, Casey’s lunch and Crystal Palace dinner.

Nummmmmmmmm!

Mmmmmmm, those sundaes look SO good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very sad to hear you didn;t rate the school bread this trip :sad2:

What if i never get to experience a good one?

Wow. That breakfast pizza a WGP looks GOOD! I am going to have to figure out a way to get one!!

Sorry your Chef's visit wasn't up to par. It is on my list of ADR's this year (again) so let's see if we actually make it!:rotfl2:

Thanks for the great reviews.

Keep 'em coming!

Oh, that No Way Jose is calling my name! If ever there was a chocolate and peanut butter girl, it's me! We just never seem to make it over there for meals - but that needs to change!

School bread is another item I've never tried - I guess it doesn't need to make it to the top of the list, but I'd still like to see what all the fuss is (or was) about at some point Maybe by the time I get to it they'll have changed it for the better again, right? One can hope!

Keep 'em coming, and yes, please, please, please do a cruise review too! :worship:

Glad to hear your getting some $ back.

Those sundaes look so good. I promised my DD we would do a kitchen sink but those 2 sundaes OMG look so good... yum- o.

Great review of Beaches and Cream - I want to go there so much!!

Trying to keep the restaurants aroudnt the Boardwalk until next year as were going to disneymoon at the Beach Club or Boardwalk :cloud9:

You did some great reviews. I am glad you liked Boma. I can't wait to try it and cornbread. Love it but no one else in the family does.

I am going to fit Earl of Sandwich in probably on the way home. Been to DTD more times than I can remember and never ate there.

That No Way Jose looks fabulous. Did you eat the whole thing?:rotfl:

That picture of the No Way Jose literally made my mouth water!!!! I had one our last trip and plan on having another on our upcoming trip. Beaches N Cream is definitely a favorite of ours!!!! BTW, you 2 are just so adorable!

I'm feeling a little jealous right now. I want a No Way Jose!!!! This is the one place on my must do food list. I love their food and even more I love their ice cream.

Wow, great review (again!) I had a No Way Jose in Decmeber and couldn't finish it  I wish I had asked them to hold the whipped cream as I really don't like it - that would have given me more room. I may have to try the Milky Way though as that looks sooooo good :cloud9: I think I perfere an individual ice cream to the Kitchen Sink as it all melts in together (and I don't really like strawberry) and looks a bit nasty towards the end (from looking at others pics)

I'm so glad you are getting a refund :woohoo: I can't imagine getting there only to find out they are full and you don't have a booking - I'm glad Disney were able to find you a room. Did you have to move rooms or was there one available for the whole time?

Oh my gosh, I am so visiting Beaches n Cream when I go. That No Way Jose looks amaaaaazing, I'm a big Chocolate/Peanut Butter dfan so its right up my street!

Hi we're loving your latest food reviews!

I'm a big fan of ribs too so was wondering where would you say was the best place for ribs in Disney or the surrounding area?

TIA

Hey there Sonya :wave2:

I really love the way you write these and it's great to hear things from a Brit perspective. In fact your last report has made me want to try Cheesecake Factory when we go in September - I may even do a food trip report (we'll catch a few days of Food and Wine :thumbsup2)

I have to agree with you on the zebra domes, we're going to Boma again in Sept and like you I will try them again but I just didn't get the love :confused3 Boma is fab tho and we also really enjoyed Sanaa (we're doing both in Sept)

We'll also be going back to the World in Dec next year  we're doing the cruise arranged by the Podcast team (the one in May was the best) and are also going to spend Christmas there too :woohoo: When we went in Dec last year we mostly had t-shirt weather, some nights were a little chilly but the day we got there and the day we left were really cold (by Florida standards) I was shivering and even DH was cold :scared1: (he doesn't get cold :lmao:) So be prepared for chilly and warm. A few pairs of trousers and jumpers just in case and a coat (esp as you'll need it for this country :rotfl:)

.

Hello there!! You should definitely make an effort to get to the Cheesecake Factory . . . has to be the biggest dessert menu anywhere, and all the food is such good quality! I was so upset we didn't make it there this year.

Yey,we will be in the World at the same time!!! I have taken your weather warnings, thanks!! I am already buying things to wear on a chillier vacation - Tony thinks I am crazy!!! The podcast cruise sounds excellent! I will have a look at the details of it, you never know . . .!

Deinitely post a link here if tou start a food report. I would love to go there during the F&W festival . . . one day!!

I am not caught up with this thread yet (I just found it today) but I am loving it so far! I wanted to stop and say THANK YOU for posting your reviews.

We are going to Disney in October. I can't wait! We are renting a house offsite so we aren't doing the DDP but we will still do some Disney meals!

Welcome along!!:goodvibes

I'm loving your reviews! Thanks so much for taking the time to write them - and for eating all this food, LOL!

I ate it all just for the reviews . . . I really didn't enjoy doing it!!!:rotfl:

Woo hoo!! I finally get to post!! I've been following along at work (and can't post there). Is it my imagination, or is your appetite smaller this year?? I'm loving the reviews and can't wait to read about your cruise!!:goodvibes

The dogs survived just about . . . Wilbur ate a sock the night before we travelled (we think it was a suicide bid so he didn't have to go in the kennels!), so I was very worried about that the first few days, but once we called the kennels and they told us he had "disposed" of it I felt a lot better!!!!:rotfl:

Darn it - I almost ordered the waffle!

I am glad someone has noticed my appetite was smaller this year . . I tried very hard to limit myself to just one snack a day this year!!!!! :rotfl2:

Nummmmmmmmm!

Mmmmmmm, those sundaes look SO good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very sad to hear you didn;t rate the school bread this trip :sad2:

What if i never get to experience a good one?

I haven't seen any other bad reviews, so hopefully we just got a bad batch. That was a major let down though!

Good luck making your ADR's tomorrow!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the great reviews.

Keep 'em coming!

It was good - I really recommend it for a nice change from the food courts! let me know what you think of Chefs - maybe next year we will try it for dinner instead, that might make a nice change!

Why on earth I decided to read your Beaches and Cream review when I'm stuck at work I will never know!

I am actually drooling, the No Way jose is the reason I booked our holiday- I have to try it and there is absolutlely no sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off YAY!!!!!!! :cool1: on that refund. It was deserved for sure. I am impressed they did that for you after all the crap they put you through.

Now a few questions.
I had the skool bread (sp?) for the first time at Akershus this past trip. I found it tasty, but I hate coconut, which was all over th top, so I picked the top off and ate it. Can you get it without coconut?

And those sundaes looks awesome. Do those count as a dessert on the dining plan? I want to go there next trip for sure..not sure if I want to do just a snack or go for an actual meal. We always do the dining plan, and would hate to pay OOP for all that. But if it was just a snack it would be OK. (I'm nto sure if the sundaes are included as a snack crdit or not, but I assume they don't.)
I want to try the no way jose too or the kitchen sink. I think we could share the no way jose easily between the 3 of us though.

Sonya,
I am only at page 16 but wanted to say thank you for posting another wonderful report. I came upon your last TR earlier in the year and spent 3 nights reading it. You have a great wit and wonderful love of life. I especially enjoyed the different comments in your last report of how your food knowledge would assist you with your visa to live in the US, we would welcome you and Tony with open arms! Now back to reading, I need a snack first.

I have been drooling over the Cheesecake Factory menu - those pictures of the cheesecakes are food porn and then some popcorn:: Why can't we get that sort of thing over here? I'm with you that I'd so love to live there one day :goodvibes Which one did you go to? We are shopping that day so think the one at Mall At Millenia would be the best one, Charlotte (the friend I'm going with) loves shopping esp. designer stuff so we thought that would be the best mall for that sort of thing, me I'm happy enough if I can get me a nice pair of crocs (or 2 ;)) at the Premium Outlets Mall (mine and DH's mall of choice!)

The Podcast cruise rates at the moment are very reasonable - we re-booked on board but they still have a group rate (but I think they are selling the rooms really fast right now) through Dreams Unlimited - I'll PM you the person to contact for a no obligation quote (I'm not making any commission BTW :rotfl: but I would recommend the cruise to anyone, first for all the things Dreams Unlimited do - ship board credit, stateroom gifts, parties - second all the people that we met, all walks of life and everyone was just so friendly) At the moment they have about one quarter of the ship booked, it's looking likely that they will get about half the staterooms :scared1: And it's not like all the activities they organise take away from the cruise, you can do as much or as little as you want but just seeing the WDWinfo lanyards all over the place made everyone seem so familiar even if you hadn't met them. I have noticed a few people who have posted here went on the first one and some more are going on the second so even you'll 'recognise' peoples board names :thumbsup2 I hope you consider it but if not we should meet up in Decmeber anyway - maybe for Cheesecake :woohoo:

Food and Wine is great, we just love walking around and nibbling lots of goodies! I don't eat fish or seafood so I have to be careful I know what is in each (I'm not allergic but if I found out I'd eaten fish/seafood later on I would probably throw up :scared:) but there is a really good selection of savory and sweet - we were last there in 2007 and I had buffalo - it was so good (I'm not the biggest steak fan but I could have eaten a whole buffalo popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: )
