But my oh my, won't we enjoy our Springtime

I know I'm in the minority but I abosultely HATE spring and am dreading it! The bugs come out, it starts staying lighter longer, the rain, thunderstorms, tornados. Its the worst season. I love fall and winter and tolerate summer but spring...blech.

I don't mind the thunderstorms (in fact, I kind of like them), but I really don't care much for spring, and I detest summer. (It does not help that I am fair skinned, and allergic to sunscreen.) Fall and winter are my seasons.

There is a beautiful lilac bush in our co-op development that IS springtime to me-- there was one on my childhood property, too. That smell just opens a floodgate of memories and instantly puts me in a better mood :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes The spring fever will certainly be high here!

Spring what that's. We skip spring and for summer here. I need to start walking for baseball season. so I can be in shape when I go work. As right now. I am now where near ready.

We've had weather in the low 50s here the past few days. On Sunday I told DH that it was time to fertilize the lawn and to cut away the overgrown tree branches because before we know it, things will start budding out and then it will be too late. We're supposed to get into the low 60s by this weekend. :sunny:

Sorry for those of you buried under snow. We had a wetter winter than average, but not much snow. Not one snow day off from school -- just one 2 hour delay. I'm ready for spring and think we'll start seeing some signs here soon. I heard a bunch of birds chirping this morning which I hadn't heard in a while.

It'll be fabulous that first day where a wind from the south will blow warm air on my face. And the smell of the earth coming back to life. I've decided winter has no smell whatsoever. Spring smells earthy and damp, and I love it!

Winter has a smell. Especially on those very clear and very cold nights when the snow sparkles.. I can't describe the smell but it smells pure and non-polluted. Like I take in more oxygen more on nights like that.

mine is a repeat - open the windows and let some fresh air in! - i love the fresh air blowing through my house.
also, i was just doing laundry, and the thought of hanging sheets out to dry outside is such a happy thought :thumbsup2
and a strange one, but oh so true after a long snowy winter - seeing the grass - even if it's brown that makes me a happy girl.

Can you tell winters are too long here? I long for the strangest things LOL:rotfl:
we do not get severe weather like others posted, so no worries about that.

I'm enjoying the winter weather. Of course, it is sunny and 70 here.;) Southern Arizona in the wintertime is unbelievable!:cool1: And believe me, I've suffered through enough frigid New England winters to really appreciate all this beautiful weather! I'll never take these warm temps for granted!

Every day I'm out walking or biking. Sunglasses are a must, as well as remembering the sunscreen. I love seeing so many people enjoying the outdoors. Kids are out on their bikes, skates, and scooters every day. We are near a lake and there are always people out fishing and walking around on the trails. There are always people enjoying the basketball and tennis courts, the swimming pools, and the parks. I never knew winters could be like this!

As far as spring, I absolutely LOVE the fact that we can enjoy our Easter egg hunts outside and we don't have to bundle up in winter clothes.

Of course, when summertime hits this area, it'll be a different story. People will be out and about in the early morning and late evening hours, because the weather will be too hot to be outside during the daytime hours!

I've never been a gardener or yard person, but this winter has made me lust after gardening magazines. I imagine myself planting and having flowers.

Yuck... I'm not a huge fan of the spring, because it means we're headed into that disgusting season known as summer

Give me the cold and snow and I'm happy.
