I too hate shoes of any kind and wore flip flops the entire time I was at WDW, and we did a LOT of walking. I got some from Target that had a thicker sole (about an inch of dense foam) and felt around the part that goes between your toes, and I never had a problem. I did pack a spare pair in the car JIC, and some moleskin, but never needed them. HTH!
