"But Mom, I want to come back to WDW!"

-also yes im gorwn up im just about 16. soon to drive. soon to go to mexico.soon to move into a trailer with jess. but goofy on the other hand. well she'll have to be a little nicer to oreo and maybe get in some anger manegment classes and wait like 10 years.. then maybe she'll be grown up. but for now. she's a suck.
<33

HMMMM....you're not THAT grown up yet. NO mexico for you until you're at least 25! Jessica's mom is not going to let you two move into their trailer for the summer and neither am I. Hooboy, I think I'm going grey.

and Goofy does NOT need anger management classes - be nice to your little sister.

There's a life out there besides the DIS? Are you sure? Does it really exist? You mean those kids running around in the other room aren't just my imagination? I really DO have to clean the house? :scared1:

:rotfl2:

Sadly enough...YES :rolleyes1

Hi Blue! I'm sorry I haven't been around lately! I have not been feeling well... Ongoing issues, going in for tests next week. Taking Trey to new doctors... My goal for 2007 is to take care of medical issues instead of letting them pile up like this... It all keeps me busy and Buzz keeps asking me, "Have you read Blue's trip report???" So I finally got caught up!

Fantasmic is awesome-your pictures are incredible! I've only seen it once and that was 7 years ago. I need to see it again.
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. I'm way behind in my replies to you also. I hope to get to that this week - it's just that I have so much to say and I keep putting it off.

It was great to see you here though :)

LOL - seems like you have good luck to me - you have a new prince charming don't ya? Maybe we'll be seeing you as a :bride: soon ;)

I guess I do have my fair share of luck. Not to skip ahead in my own trip report but it has been discussed. But no hopes of being a DIS :bride: for me.

I'm glad to hear your opinion on the Fantasmic package, I thought about doing that next trip but didn't know if it'd be a good idea for me.

Go Mom!!! :cool1:
(Sorry JoJo)

Ugh..I sure need the support :sad1:

JoJo's a little darling and a good kid but boy oh boy - she's at that independence stage and can sometimes drive me and hubby crazy with her future plans :crazy2:

Day 4 – Part 1

I woke up feeling a tiny bit disappointed on this day because I realized we were half way through our vacation. :sad1: I’ve never had that feeling on previous trips, but then again, we had never been to the World together. Usually, I tend to get homesick (ya…me…an adult) and miss my animals, my bed and the comforts of home but not this time. This trip was very different in so many ways. There was so much to see and do and just not enough time to do it all. I knew then that we would HAVE to come back. Many people had told me we would never see it all in seven days and I tried my best to cram in as much as I could, and they were right. We missed several attractions at MGM the previous day and even more at Magic Kingdom. That helped to make our decision of what we would do for the evening. After dinner at Chef Mickey’s, we’d spend the rest of the night in MK.

Prince Grumpy made his usual trip to the food court for coffee, tea and juice. He came back with Danishes for us all and we sat and ate our breakfast while watching the Disney Channel. That seemed to be the only channel that the girls could agree on most of the time. I showered first because I had a job to do that morning.

If you recall, our dinner receipt from Hollywood & Vine showed that 8 TS credits were missing from our dining plan so I went to the front desk to clear that up. Unfortunately the line up was much longer than I had anticipated and I ended up waiting for over 20 minutes to finally speak to a CM. While waiting, I met a nice man from NJ who realized while chatting with me that he missed out on the free dining plan. Another woman, who overheard us talking, proceeded to ask one of the CM’s if she could register for the free dining. I was curious to hear what they would tell her, and of course they gave her the big spiel about the time frame, blah blah blah. Then it was my turn. My stomach started flip-flopping because I hate confronting people about stuff and I wondered why I hadn’t sent Prince Grumpy to do this. I showed the CM my receipt and told him it was missing 8 TS credits. He was so polite and understanding, which calmed my nerves. The CM checked the computer and told me that because I had picked up my confirmation/reservation for Hoop-Dee-Doo, the credits were already taken off for that even though we hadn’t been yet. Whew! That was a relief, however, I’m sure I turned 3 shades of red from embarrassment for being so uninformed.

By this time it was close to 10:00 a.m. and I was rushing everyone to get moving. We made our way to the bus stop, chatting excitedly about the heat and what a great day it was for a water park. :hyper2: Seriously, everyday would have been a great day for a water park. It was always hot and sunny. When we arrived at Typhoon Lagoon, Prince Grumpy got his camera out to take some pictures near the entrance to the park, which was when he noticed in our haste to leave, he had forgotten the battery for his camera in the charger. There was a short, angry conversation then and it went something like this:

DH: See what happens when you rush us!
Me: What? You can’t seriously be mad at me because you forgot the battery.
DH: Well, you were telling us to hurry up.
Me: It’s okay, I brought my camera, and we can use mine.

(At this point, I pulled mine out of my fanny pack, turned it on, and realized I only had enough space left for 8 pictures. :sad2: OH NO – I forgot to download the mini movies from Fantasmic! There was no way that I was going to erase them.)

Me: Ummmm…I forgot to download my pics last night.
DH: GRRRRRRR
Me: JoJo – what about your camera?
JoJo: I didn’t bring mine because I didn’t want to have to worry about it with the water.
Me: Ugh.
DH: Do you want me to go back and get the battery?
Goofy: NO…we don’t need pictures. Let’s just go!
Me: (Thinking – don’t need pictures???? Where does this child come from???)
Me: No, forget it. Maybe we can buy a throwaway in the park.
DH: Yah – it’ll probably cost a fortune (the big spender)

I took a few pictures and we headed into the park. We rented a locker, some towels and went to a store and bought ourselves an underwater throwaway camera. It was one that you could strap on your wrist and DH seemed fine with his purchase. It only cost $16.00 and he wasn’t too upset. We only took about 6 pictures with this camera and still haven’t brought it in to be developed. All the fuss was for nothing.

1125324-2-med.jpg

The girls really wanted to start out in the lazy river so we each grabbed a tube and sailed around the park, enjoying the sights. We got off at a spot that seemed to satisfy us all, dropped our gear and headed for our first ride. I don’t remember what the ride was called but the line-up was long and moved slowly. All we knew was that it was a family ride and thought it would be fun. Whelp, it took over 30 minutes before we got to the top of the hill and about 1 minute to go down. That was enough for DH. He said he wasn’t doing that again and wanted to go in the wave pool. The wave pool was so much fun, we all loved it except poor little Goofy. She was afraid of being sucked under because of a bad experience she had in the ocean when we were in P.E.I. This surprised me because of the four of us; she is the fish in the family, the one who lives in the river and pool back home. Waves were just not her thing. She mostly stayed in the shallow part, which as you all know isn’t nearly as much fun. I could tell she wasn’t having a good time and I didn’t want to spoil JoJo and DH’s fun, so I asked her if she wanted to go try out another slide.

Goofy and I wandered through the trails and came upon the shark reef. This was definitely discussed before the trip; it was something her and I wanted to try. The line for this was long too and I told her we should wait for DH and JoJo because they’d want to see us. Prince Grumpy and JoJo are terrified of sharks and told us they would not be joining us but would watch.

I have the funniest pic of Prince Grumpy in PEI, wading near the shore in the ocean, lifting his leg up, afraid to step in the water. I even researched shark attacks in Canada and there have been none reported. They are there, but no attacks. Didn’t matter, he wouldn’t go in and said we were crazy. JoJo finally ventured in on the second last day and was sorry she didn’t go sooner. I tried to explain to them that the sharks at WDW were small and it couldn’t possibly be dangerous or they wouldn’t let people swim with them. No convincing them. :rolleyes1

We found a slide with no wait went down three times. Goofy would have liked to stay there longer but I was exhausted climbing back each time. I’ll have to get in better shape for the next trip.

1125324-4-med.jpg

The two of us went back to find DH and JoJo so we could all go for lunch. I was famished. We ordered our meal and received tokens for an ice cream bar. The CM explained that we could come back later to get our dessert. As we chose a table, and looked around, I noticed a sign that said, “Don’t feed the birds”. Well, from what you’ve read about my family, you know that a little sign wouldn’t deter them. The girls kept throwing fries to the birds and I kept telling them to stop it. My fries were good but I noticed a few of them were burnt or had some kind of black oil on them. I ate around those ones and heartily finished the rest. As we were leaving, a bird pooped on my shoulder. EWWWWWWW. It was nasty. While the three of them laughed at me, I grabbed a soiled napkin and wiped the crap off only to realize then that my fries were not burnt, it wasn’t black oil on them, it was birdie doo-doo on my fries. I have such a weak stomach and started gagging immediately, which only made the girls and Prince Grumpy laugh even harder. :rotfl: I needed to find a washroom quickly before I tossed my lunch. I went in to the cubicle, wretching but nothing came up. Bleh. After washing my shoulder and hands with soap and water we headed back to the wave pool.

1125324-3-med.jpg

The girls wanted to spend more time in the lazy river and DH and I wanted to play in the wave pool so we told them to go have fun and meet us in hour. They came back sooner because Goofy had cut her knee and wanted me to get her a band-aid. This was another one of those times when I hadn’t come prepared and didn’t pack one in my pouch. I went into the store asking for a band-aid but they told us to go to first aid. After having her knee mended, we headed back to the food court to cash in our tokens for an ice cream bar except JoJo, who wanted to keep her token for a souvenir. We decided to call it a day after that because we still had to go and purchase pictures. We chose a 5 x 7 from the family ride but since it hasn’t been scanned, I won’t be sharing it.

1125324-5-med.jpg

1125324-6-med.jpg

As we were leaving, we made a group decision to spend our free day (which was the next day) at the water park. Goofy and I forgot about the shark reef and wanted to try some other slides. There was no one else waiting at the bus stop and when the All Stars bus finally showed up, the driver told us it wasn’t the one going to ASMo. We must have been a sorry looking bunch because she opened the door again and told us she would drop us off! WooHoo! What a nice driver. pixiedust:

 :scared1: :faint:Oh goshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I feel bad for you but that part alone totally made up for having to wait so long since your last chapter!!!:rotfl:
If it's possible to laugh and puke at the same time then that's what I'm doing right now.

Great TR!!! I can't wait to find out what happens next! I am deathly afraid of Sharks... I actually started having a panic attack once in the Living Seas when I saw the sharks and HUGE fish in the tank.
It all goes back to me and my brother swimming in the shark tank in Typhoon Lagoon... I wasn't real afraid of sharks at the time but wasn't quite sure of them... WELL my brother decided to brush me real lightly on my leg.... well that was the end of that... I sucked in a bunch of water and was coughing... I was pretty sure I was going to DIE :rotfl:.
I'm a little better then I was a few years ago... sharks still scare me!! I guess I should stop watching Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.

Don't you just love the water park? It's so much fun.

I think the birds in Disney are attracted to moms. When we went on one of our family trips(my brother and I were probably about the age of your daughters, my sister probably just hit about 10) we were standing around the Splash Mountain Area enjoying our mickey bars when a bird pooped on my mom's head. At first she thought it was vanilla ice cream that had squirted out of her bar. Then we realized what it was. We still laugh about it to this day!

I loved the latest, keep them coming. (And now I'm inspired to go write more myself.)

Hello my friend, I just found your TR here. I've read the first part of your pre-trippie, and I know I've already told you, but once again, so sorry about your mom.

I am glad you went ahead with trip plans though, and I am looking forward to reading your report!!!!!!! :yay:

and what do you mean having to wait so long since my last update? Here I was feeling all proud of myself for having the next one up so quickly :lmao:

We're exactly the same. You have so much fun and there is so much to do that you simply can't stand the thought of leaving. The WDW "plan" works well and sucks us all into their little trap. It's a great trap though! It keeps pulling us back also.

Boy, does this sound familiar! ;) the only difference is I do the rushing and then I also do the blaming when something is forgotten. Why did my wife even marry me?!? :headache:

I'm with them! I ain't gettin in no water near no shark no matter how big the sucker is. Big shark small shark medium shark. It's still a dang shark! Even a little shark with razor sharp teeth could do some damage to you if he were so inclined. Nope, I'll look at 'em thru the glass after the Nemo ride in Epcot. That's as close as I'm gunna get thank you very much!

Sheesh.....sometimes ya just gotta live a little...ya know? Like Tim McGraw's song "Live Like You Were Dying"

K...now I have the song stuck in my head!

Anyhow, unless someone can show me where there has been an incident at WDW in the shark reef - I'm in.

Thanks for the laughs Buzz - you always make us smile here.

Which reminds me...are you and Linnie going to write a pre-trip report???? If you're going in March...don't ya think you should start one soon so we can all see what your plans are. I'm really looking forward to another humourous report from you two. :yay: :yay:

Oh no Blue...how awful!! I can see how it was maybe just a LITTLE funny for your family though. :rolleyes1

Uncharacteristically, I have decided to totally “Wing-It”. Should be interesting and provide us with a lot to write about. We have only two advanced dining reservations. One with the kids for lunch and the other just for mom and dad on our night out.

I’d like to share something with you that I’m quite embarrassed about: We’ve never been to a WDW water park. We’ve rented boats, done Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney, been to the Cirque De Soleil, and stayed in most of the hotels, but have never been to a WDW water park. I know… I know… LAME!

Can I rent life jackets for the kids there like we can at the swimming pools? If you had it to do it all over again, would you go back to the water park, or spend another day in one of the theme parks (aside from the fact that a bird pooped on you)? It sounds like you went back the next day so you guys must have really liked it.

My kids can’t swim so we’ve always been nervous about going to any of them. What do you think?

First of all, I was cringing when you said you had to go ask about your credits. I HATE doing stuff like that and definitely send Buzz to do it. He just shooed away a very aggressive Mary Kay lady that's been on my tail for the past 6 months. She was so nice, I didn't have the heart to tell her I wasn't interested! He finally took pity on my and told her!

If I confront someone, I tend to be really belligerent and angry b/c in order for me to confront someone, I have to be REALLY upset! Ick. Not fun.

Yep, Buzz is the one to rush us all and when I read that about your camera, I immediately thought of him. I was thinking, "Yeah, Buzz is the rusher, but when he forgets something he blames me only he'd never admit it." Well, color me so surprised! He admitted it here on these boards! Will wonders never cease!! Every time he makes a mistake, it's always my fault! :rotfl: I didn't know he knew that he blamed me-I figured that's just part of his subconscious. Nice to hear he actually realizes it!! Now if he'll just stop it!

That is too bad that bird pooped on you! Yuck! I really do not care for birds or the wildlife at Disney. I don't know why, but they freak me out- those birds and squirrels! Last year, I was at a table at DTD and this squirrel kept zipping around our table. I knew he was just biding his time to find the right moment to jump up on our table and scare the crap out of me. At one point, he looked me right in the eyes and we had a stare down. I finally broke the connection by telling him, "Do NOT even think about jumping on my table, buddy!" He turned and went the other way and jumped on the table next to me. The guy sitting there nearly had a heart attack. The guy kept talking to his buddy about my ability to talk to the squirrels...

Enjoying your trip report!!

Buzz & I were just talking and he reminded me about our experience eating outside on the patio at England a few years ago.

Trey (5 years old then) was holding a french fry and staring out at the lake and this huge bird came swooping down and stole the french fry right out of his hand! The poor kid turned and looked at me and said very sadly, "All done, french fry!" He was so sad.

During that same meal another big bird came flying to our table and grabbed one of our pieces of fish right off our plate and flew off with it! Everyone around us was howling with laughter. I was not amused. Especially when the fish in the bird's mouth broke in half and fell to the ground. The bird only got away with half of what he took, and we got none!

And a squirrel kept flocking around us. He just would NOT go away! It was a very unpleasant meal for me!
