But I can't afford to stay at AKL!!!

My friend Sandy LOVES Disney, but her partner does not. So, I offered to have her come along with me on my next trip....which we have decided will be in late February.

I got on the phone with Member Services and booked us a studio at AKL. I called her all excited and she told me in no uncertain terms that she COULD NOT afford to stay at AKL. I explained that we would be using my vacation points and that it would cost her nothing....and she didn't believe me!!!

I have tried to explain the DVC to her and she is one of those people who can't grasp the concept. She kept insisting that it simply HAD to cost SOMETHING when we check in. I almost gave in and said she could pay for my meal plan....but I decided not to.

If she continues to insist....I just might HAVE to let her pay SOMETHING....LOL

Too funny. Wait, if you are getting the meal plan won't ahving to pay for that at check in 'kinda proove her right? Hope the two of you have a great trip!!!

It's funny but I remember the 1st time my friend let me use their DVC without them, I was sure that I would arrive Friday night, after work, w/ my son and husband and have no accomodations or better yet that they were going to ask me for money at the desk. It's just fear of the unknow or paranoia!

They had assured me of how it worked, had given me the reservation paper and I was still scared. Since you are going with her you would hope that she would trust that you know what you're doing.

Let me tell you, by the 3rd time they let me use their DVC, I was a pro and completely obsessed with buying into it, which I did in 2000.
