Business Trip to San Diego? I'M GOING TO DIDNEYRAND!!!!!-April 2013 TR*Update 11/18

20 minute wait for TSM? Hard to believe. But you lost? Maybe you are more competitive after a longer wait. :rotfl2: Just saying!

Love, love, love the hat pictures. Especially the one with Popadon! :thumbsup2

Lunch looks super yummy!

Hmmmm. Maybe there is some logic to your long wait = more competitive theory......:rotfl2:

One of the guys on the Dis podcast has stated many times that Peter Pan has no business having a FP. I am in agreement on your theory! 20 minutes for TSMM?! Wow! I would never get DH away!! :rotfl: He loves TSMM but we still can't figure out why the waits are so horrendous at DHS! (Well maybe we can, but you know....) I am not a fan of all the planning involved now with the invention of FP+. We have gotten into a "what do I feel like" mode and planning what rides to ride 2 months out doesn't exactly fit! I do like the fact that we can plan for later FPs though and not get to a park at rope drop, run to the FP machine and then get a late afternoon FP...but so far, that is it. Maybe once it is rolling my opinion will change!

Thank you for ranting and causing me to rant!! :lmao:

Haha, it's okay that my rant inspired a rant! Rant away my friend!

I'm a little miffed at the whole having to plan everything ahead of time. I mean, I can accept it and move on, because I have to. But I'm irritated. I already had to take the whole "eating on the fly" thing out of the equation because of the Dining Plan and ADR's being a must for any table service. Now, with the addition of FP+ to everything (really....for BOG for lunch?! What else do we need?!), it's gonna completely take any spontaneity out of it. :rotfl2: Now I'm ranting again!

Keep those good vibes going because I need a good year:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

We will have a good year. :goodvibes

Love Love Love your trip reports!!!

I swear I spent most of my weekend reading your reports from previous older trips (your currentish one about Disneyland Paris is where I started)

You seem completely awesome...

Keep calm and Disney on :)

I'm glad that you've enjoyed them! I just love sharing our experiences and hearing about others. :goodvibes

She is such an awesome teller of events. Has a way with words for sure. :mic::mic:. I love reading her TRs.:love: Even if I was with her for the majority of them, it's great to experience our vacation from someone else's eyes.

We left off having just eaten at Cucina Cucamonga for lunch. Since we were in the Pacific Wharf area, we decided to head over to the Little Mermaid.

It is identical to the one in WDW, obviously except for the facade. The exterior on this one is pretty much just an overlay on what was already there. Kinda slapdash, but the ride is still fun!

I caught one evil eye here. I'm going to say it's Flotsam.

Jason and Dad were just like men. They said "meh....it was fine". Whatever! I love it! Such guys they are, I tell you.

Hey! There are Disneyland ducks too!

We headed over to Mickey's Fun Wheel after that. Essentially, it's a ferris wheel, but there are cars that swing, which is my opinion makes it a ferris wheel on crack! I'm all for making things more extreme. Dad and I had ridden it before, but Jason hadn't. We explained the premise so Jason was read in. Well, that didn't mean that the first time the wheel made it's rounds, Jason didn't go WHOA!!!!!!!! I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!!!!

Except for the grating, it does offer some great views.

The wait for the Fun Wheel was about 45 minutes, and we wanted a little snack. What can I say. Waiting makes me hungry.

I got a sweet cream cheese pretzel and Jason got a jalapeño cheese pretzel.

After that, we decided to head back to the resort to relax for a little bit before going back to the park. We grabbed fastpasses for World of Color on the way out. AND, I had a bonus, because I had this still waiting for me in the room.

Yup. I ate that sucker like Homer Simpson eats donuts.

Jason and I headed to the pool and took a dip in the japoolzi as well when we got back. Dad decided he didn't want to do that, he just wanted to nap.

After our relaxing dip, we decided to head into DTD to do a little shopping. I like the stores they have there a lot. They have a Sanuk store, which is the brand that makes flip flops out of recycled yoga mats if you weren't aware. Their flippies are so comfy, I love them!

We bought a few other things, but I didn't take pictures of them apparently. Dad bought Mom two of the bags from the IASW and LeSportsac collaboration, which were adorable! I was so jealous. He got her the one that's a carryon style, and the purse to match. She was definitely ready for Florida in July with those!

Up next: Are you trying to fit that entire burger in your mouth?

Don't you love how easy it is to get back to the room?

Such a quick hop to the room, the pool, DTD and back to the park.

LM is in a nice building but nothing really themed and certainly nothing like WDW.
I got some nice pictures on MFW after I got over the WHOA part. :lmao:

The walking distance factor is one of my favorite things about Disneyland. I think it's part of why my favorite resort area in WDW is Boardwalk and Beach Club. At least then I can walk to two of the parks. :lmao:

It actually was a really quick break. It was a little on the cold side, so we didn't spend too long in the pool.

Little Mermaid looks exactly the same. Silly boys! they don't know anything! :rotfl2:

I love those pictures from the "fun wheel". Is that really what it's called? The view is amazing, but I'm sure that swinging is just a wee bit unnerving. :rotfl:

Yes ma'am, it is indeed called Mickey's Fun Wheel. ;)

I love the swinging. I actually find that it doesn't swing enough. But I'm a weirdo...and a thrill junkie......

Oohhh, Fun Wheel is not so fun for those of us afraid of heights!! We rode in one of the cars that don't slide - that's scary enough for me! Great view, though!

GAH!!!! Mickey's Wheel of Death!!!!! Okay, I have suppressed my morbid fear of heights for most Disney attractions - EE, nearly killed me the first time, but now I love it; ToT, wasn't going to do it, but refused to instill my irrational fear in my DD, so done and her favorite ride, so yeah, done 13 times in one day. And so on and so forth. Mickey's Wheel of Death???? Never.Going.To.Happen. NEVER!!!!!

And with that, please carry on with your absolutely entertaining TR. :thumbsup2

Little mermaid is adorable, that's where the appeal lies!
Mickeys fun wheel looks really cool, though I'm far from a thrill junkie and would not love the swinging!
Sounds awesome to just take a quick jaunt back to your room for a snack and a rest.

Yup, it certainly isn't. My Mom is not a fan of heights, so she doesn't go on the fun wheel. And we're okay with that.

Hahaha! That's okay, there are plenty of people that don't love the height of it either. My Mom is certainly not a fan, so you wouldn't catch her up there.

I'm totally with Willow girl! I could to ToT over and over again. 13 times in one day is super impressive!

It is really cool. I love the swinging part, but we have established from all of my TR's so far that I have issues. :lmao:

I know exactly where you are coming from. I have not been on Mickey's Wheel of Fun and probably won't get up enough nerve to go (FEAR OF HEIGHTS) I go on EE and will go on TOT but being out in the open on that wheel...... I don't think so :faint::faint:
