Hi there,

I am attending a conference at the Disney Coronado Springs resort next week, and had some questions on how to best stay within my per diem budget. Unfortunately this is government travel and they won't pay for a rental car so I'm stuck "on campus" unless I pay for an Uber out of pocket.

Can you get Publix grocery delivery to your room? The site seems to let you add the resort's address, but that doesn't mean the hotel will let the delivery people into the resort to deliver. Has anyone ever gotten groceries delivered to the resort before?

Are there any facilities to reheat food? Tripadvisor says the rooms don't come with microwaves (though they have "limited quantities" available upon request) but if they don't have one for me, are there microwaves in the common areas by the ice machines or anything?

Are you allowed to consume outside alcohol in the resort? Obviously they can't stop me from drinking it in my room, but if I got a Drizly delivery or something, would I be allowed to bring a beer to the pool areas? (Obviously not in a glass bottle)

Any recommendations for good, cheap food that delivers to Coronado Springs? Preferably food that reheats well. (Indian, Thai, Chinese etc)

If you are attending a conference I would have to believe that they will be feeding you most meals. There is no way that the hotel restaurants could handle a several hundred people surge and get them all back in time for the next session. Most of the time when attending conferences there is barely time to get back to your room.

^^ I agree. Usually the conference schedule will indicate which meals are included and if there is any 'free' time to do other things. Perhaps you can also ask co-workers who have attended previously on what their experience was.

Publix and Instacart will deliver groceries to resorts. The fridge is small and not very effective, so I wouldn't store anything that has to be kept cold like meat or eggs.

They don't have microwaves around the resort but they do have them near the quick service restaurant or in the main gift shop. It could be a long walk depending on your room.

Local restaurants and delivery apps will bring food to Disney resorts, but at that point the price is probably more than the quick service location at the resort.

I had issues with food delivery, I was in the casitas and it was a hike to the tower in the dark.. besides that my choices were so limited. I ended up just eating at the resort it was easier.
