Business Class on Amtrak Cascades

Some people on my cruise booked Business Class on Amtrak Cascades and ended up getting it cancelled by Amtrak. We thought about doing the same until I found a pretty good airfare to Vancouver. But now I'm just curious. Any one know what some of the reasons may be for Amtrak to cancel Business Class on Cascades?

Perhaps service issues on the line? Unlike freight rail in the US and Canada, passenger rail is undependable.

Perhaps a charter, or perhaps they needed to take a car off-line in the car they had to take was the business class car. I've never done business class on Amtrak on either coast, as the coach accommodations are so comfortable.

Looks like Amtrak is going through some equipment change on that line whereas the evening train leaving Vancouver uses bi-level cars, with no business class
