A few questions about the buses on St. Maarten that run from Philipsburgh to Marigot. How are they (shape wise)? How much do they cost per person(round trip ?) and do they take U.S. dollars? Do they run pretty much on schedule? Are they crowded? Were is the best place to get on them?

We used a taxi to get around. We did get one of the open-air pickup trucks, that had seating attached where the bed of the truck would be. I would guess it would hold 12 people or so. Those were fairly popular as well as regular taxis. I did find this on a St Maarten web-site:

Public transportaion is provided by private buses. These buses are usually minivans that carry between 9 and 14 passengers. There is no schedule and they stop anywhere somebody wants to get on or off! Fares are between U$1 and U$2 . The buses run on both the French and Dutch side. At night it may be difficult to find buses going to certain directions, especially towards the airport.

I hope this is easy.

I really want to go to the Maho Beach and get blown by one of the 747's taking off/landing.
