As you might know I jusst returned home from WDW and I loved my trip but had one major complaint the Buses took forever!!!!

on the 21st I do realize that there was a pirate and princess party but we waited for a bus for the Studios for about 60 min!!!! while waiting SIX magic kingdom buses went by!!!! :furious: ok six for SSR is a little excesssive!!! turn one of those buses into a studios people!!!

on our last night we were coming back to SSR from Studios and leaving the studios the bus driver turned LEFT???? now I am very observant and after a few bus rides I know my way around! this bus driver had no Idea where he was going and it took him about two-three min going in the wrong direction to notice that he was going the wrong way!!!:confused3

I love WDW and hope they can get SSR transportation up and going!

Girl dont get me started. We had such issues at WL we went and rented a car. It was mind numbing. One day it took 1 1/2 hours to get from Epcot back to the lodge and the same amount of time to return for our dinner ressies. Yes 3 hours on a bus. That is why I am trying CR this trip to see if being on the monorail line improves things. I actually had great buses at AKL and CSR but they dont share buses and I am wondering if that is why the service is so good.

I read about bus issues on another board here...maybe the transportation board I think? Apparently, Disney is trying out some new electronic dispatching system for the buses. Instead of using REAL PEOPLE to dispatch the buses... real people who are able to make judgement decisions and re-route buses based on the flow of demand. From what they said, the eletronic system is still working out the bugs and it's causing big problems. Too many buses at one place, not enough at others, ect...one of the posters said he was a bus driver and the new system just tells them where to go, there isn't anyone they can talk to or ask questions like before and CM's can't call buses when they see the need with new system...or at least right now with the new system. The bus driver poster claims there are not less buses due to gas prices like alot of people thought, he said the amount of the buses are the same but are not being used as effiently. Don't quote me on any of this, I sort of skimmed that thread, but no one sounded too happy with the new electronic bus routing thingy.

We got back Monday from WDW and this was my only complaint.. the buses between the resort and parks..

What is crazy to me is when you are standing in line for a lengthy time and there are buses parked right there where you can see them but they arent being used.. I guess they are waiting to find out which line they need to be going to..

also one time while in line waiting for the bus to go to a park at the resort a bus for Animal Kingdom had just left.. within less than 5 minutes a 2nd bus came for AK.. opened the doors.. there was noone in line so they left.. before they were out of the parking lot area of the resort a third bus for AK drove up.. again it stopped, opened the doors, closed them and drove off.. It was crazy!

We were at HS and wanted to go back to our resort on Monday.. there was a huge line for all the values together.. there were enough people in front of us that it was going to be at least 3 buses before we could get on.. The stop next to ours was to go to Epcot and that bus just drove up.. so we decided to go to Epcot and then hope that the line for our resort was not long as we remembered the 2 days before when we were there our resort had its own line.. so we took that bus.. got to Epcot.. There were about 15 people that did the same thing as us.. The lady in front of us asked the driver as we were getting off if he knew which line was for our resort.. He said it was the bus area 2 #'s up.. so we all got off and went over there.. There was noone there when we got there.. we stood in line.. while we were standing there the same bus driver changes his sign to our resort and moves the bus 2 stops up and opens his door :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We all get on the bus and then he announces that he's on break but someone will be there shortly to take the bus.. :lmao:

I agree totally!! We just got back Wednesday and our only complaint was the wait for buses. We stayed at POP and thought that maybe it was just the values (this was our first stay at a value), but we waited 30 minutes for the bus to CR from the Studios for our Chef Mickey's reservation. I told DH that if I was paying CR room prices, I would be majorly unhappy! We are seriously considering driving down next year so we will have a car.

wonderful to know! I was just gripping about our stay last year and how much I loathed the busses, but they were much better for AKL thant for POFQ the year before.

We visited from May 18-23rd and had no problems with any bus. We never waited more than 15 minutes for anything and mostly we waited less than 5 or it happened to be there waiting.

I guess we were just lucky (the pregnancy gods must have been watching over me).:goodvibes

I see that you stayed at OKW, I think that is the most problem free resort for buses. I don't think they ever share with any other resort. We waited at BWV once for 45 min for a bus to AK. It was sharing with Swan/Dolphin, YC and BC. Talk about a long ride.

We were with a family on that trip who doesn't believe in rental cars, they always use the buses. We have gotten a rental car ever since our trip in 2005. We even had a car on that trip, but left it in the lot to ride a bus over with them. We should have left them and spent an extra hour in the park. :rotfl: Although, in their defense, they usually stay at OKW and had never experiences long waits for the buses before. They did not enjoy the bus option while staying at BWV.
