Hi, my family and I will be staying at POR very soon:cool1: so I was just wondering about the bus stops- is it difficult, aggrivating? Also, what's the best way to much sure that you get on, and not stay waiting for a whole other 30 min for another bus. We requested the mansion section so, is that one of the 1st or last bus stops? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!:goodvibes

The main difficulty is lining up for the bus since the exact stopping point at Port Orleans platforms varies and those nearest the door will get on first. Just like on the subway in any big city.

During peak times buses may start at different stops at Port Orleans when they pull in.

Seems to be some misinformation going around again. It isn't hard to get on a bus at any resort. When I have stayed at POR, I have never had an issue with buses. I have been way in the back of AB...used the bus stop that was very close to my bldg., when I was in the mansion section, I walked over to the main platform, and used that one. I found the main platform may have been a bit busier but I didn't have an issue getting on the bus each day.

I guess that if there's a secret, it would be to not sit down at the bus stop. Remain standing, as close as you can to where the bus door will be. I have arrived early and taken a seat...but then found that everyone else that arrived after me got on the bus before me. Not a huge deal for me, but it could be very annoying to others. That would be the only 'secret' I can think of.

We found it best in the morning before park opening to walk to the depot outside the lobby. I think it is the South Depot. Although they say that they buses start at various stops we found that the majority pick up at French Quarter first, then South Depot and so on. The one time we tried to wait at our stop first thing in the morning outside Acadia House we saw several full buses speed by without stopping before one came along that we could get on. The rest of the day we used the depot near Acadia House without any issues and lines rarely formed.

It totally depends. I have stayed at POR 4 times now, and the South Depot always seemed to be the last stop. There is no magical formula for avoiding having to wait for a bus, or for making sure the bus isn't near to full by the time it gets to you. Just go with the stop closest to your room.
