We have tickets for Busch Gardens in December and I would like to get an early start due to the distance involved. We have a car and I was thinking of waking and driving getting breakfast on the way. Has anyone done this and, if so can you recommend somewhere to stop? If not, we'll get up early, have breakfast at Ponderosa or IHOP and then go. :thumbsup2

We stopped off at Brandon once on the way to Clearwater, to be honest it is probably closer to Tampa than Orlando so probably a bit further on down your journey.

However, you will find as you drive along that there are signs for the likes of Ponderosa, Sizzler etc on your way, often less than a few minutes or so from the I4, I would just watch out them as you go as I am sure you will see plenty on the way.

A list of Brandon restaurants , including Ponderosa etc is below just in case:

In addition there are many restuarants in the Lakeland area, around junction 18/19 of the I4 which are probably about half way through your journey, there is a main road close to the exit called South Florida Avenue that has Golden Corral, Denny's etc

The link below has a list of all the restaurants and telephone numbers:

I did Orlando Clearwater two weeks ago left at 8am had one stop at a McDonalds about half way down for light breakfast and was in at Clearwater about 9.50am.

Tamper I passed around 9.30am.

CARE,
1/ Lots of police with speeding radars around! Whilst a lot of USA drivers go over the limit, they might know where they usually hang out, I saw a lot of cards pulled over.
2/ Roadworks just outside Tampa, and I cannot remember I think its the I-275 had a big tailback getting onto the ramp and backed up on the I-4 in USA speak, this i think is the Bush turn off.

Came back non stop and had dinner in Kissimee on the I-192. 1 hour 40 mins.

We normally breakfast before leaving (Denny's usually!)the drive normally takes about 90 mins,as mentioned there are certainly plenty of stops just after Kissimee. There's also quite a few places on the road in to BG after you've left the interstate & if all else fails they do breakfast in the park
HTH SD :thumbsup2

Has anyone used the bus service from Seaworld to get to Busch? Just curious how long it takes and how reliable the service is.

Thanks
