I am hoping to go to Busch Gardens Tampa during our trip to Orlando this Summer. I am interested in any feedback or info on the Serengeti Safari where you get to feed a giraffe. I was curious what type of vehicle they use and if it is a good experience for kids. I think I read some where that it is an open type safari vehicle??? Was it worth the extra money?? I would appreciate some info on this.

Thanks :thumbsup2

we did this on our last trip, it was definely worth the money we loved it. your in an open topped truck, your standing and you drive around the area, look at all the other animals zebras, rhinos, bongos, then we parked in the middle of the grass, they get the lettuce out and giraffes starting coming, there right pigs. they just lean on over into the truck. they stay for ages as long as theres food. fisrt they talk aboput them, you feed them, do photo opps, they you stay around for ages feeding them, the tour say it was only for an 1/2 hour or something but we were out there well longer.

we loved it and would do it again. i'll upload some pics from it

Oh I would love to see some pics. Is it hard to stand up while you are driving? Just curious my husband has a bad knee. I just want to make sure he would do alright in the truck. Also about how many people go on each truck? Is it really crowded? Thanks so much for the info and I look forward to the pictures.

i think your DH should be ok with his knees, as we have a bad back including knees in our group and he did fine.

ours wasn't crowded around 10-15 of us, it varies how many people there our, what time of year you going etc... we went august and i didn't feel like we didin't get to interact. we loved it.

I have also done this and it is soooo worth the money. We are doing it again when we go in December. Be warned the giraffes will slobber all over your hand so bring some tissues or baby wipes with you!

I also think your DH will be ok with his knee as their is a handrail inside the truck so you can hold on. They drive slowly aswell so it's not really bumpy.
