Instead of our yearly wdw trip the last 10-12 days of August, we are going to go to Virginia. I thought in the past there was a ticket that included a week of Busch Gardens and Williamsburg. I think it was called the triangle/bounce ticket? Something like that. I looked online and now it seems like its $175. The ticket I was thinking of was only around $100. Do they offer any great tickets around the holiday/black Friday?

How is Virginia Beach? Is it worth taking a ride there?
We just did Williamsburg/VA Beach this past August. I didn't love Virginia Beach. The boardwalk and where the hotels are in the higher numbers are very nice. I found the lower numbers by the amusement park to be a bit shady. There were also some homeless people sleeping on benches etc. I didn't think there was that much to do at night for us anyway. If you go, try to stay at a hotel above maybe 20th street? Parking is a bit of pain so plan on leaving your car at the hotel and either walking or taking the trolley.

My FIL has a house in LBI, so always go there for some time in the summer. If Virginia Beach is nothing great, we will stick with Busch Gardens/Water country/Williamsburg/Yorktown

I just went to Yorktown for the first time (despite living in VA my whole life)- very nice! Cute area.

VA Beach is ok, but very touristy. I was just there recently for work and stayed at 37th Street. DH and I were thinking it was very nice and that they'd cleaned it up a lot, but then two people were shot at 21st Street that Saturday night :scared:

I grew up in that area and nothing would convince me to vacation in VA Beach at this stage of my life. If y'all like history, just stay in the Williamsburg area-there is enough to do there.
