Busch Garden hotel advice

If we take the shuttle to Tampa and want to stay overnight to visit Busch Gardens for 2 days, are the hotels that say they are the closest to Busch, really walkable? Also, any hotels to stay away from? The Days Inn says it's at the gate, but I know what that means in Orlando!

I've stayed at that Days Inn and wouldn't again. Most of better hotels are on Fowler like LaQuinta or Holiday but they are not walkable. The hotel we like the best is the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

stay away from anything on Busch Ave. like motherfletcher suggested, the best hotels are on Fletcher Ave. there's a doubletree on 30th, and a couple of others on 30th as well. as far as I know, they all have shuttles to BG.
