We stayed at OKW in 2010 and are trying to decide which resort for our 2011 trip. We were the last stop returning from the Parks and I developed motion sickness during this trip, by the time I got off the bus I felt real sick. It seemed to take longer to get from the front of the resort to the Carriage House then it did from the park to the entrance to the resort. Does anyone know if the bus trip through the resort is shorter at SSR vs OKW.

Thanks,

I feel your pain as I have the same problem. I just visited both resorts last week found them to be about the same, maybe SSR seemed a tad bit shorter but they are down one bus stop right now because of renovating the Paddock pool. I think it's scheduled to be completed by this summer.

If you decide on OKW again (our favourite) book in Hospitality House area so you are close to the front - we stayed in Building 24, walked over to HH every day to get on the bus and head right out to the parks from there (last stop), then coming back, Peninsular Road was first stop.

An advantage of SSR is that it is more of a loop...so if you do end up in the Springs section (last stop) you could get off at Grandstand and it isn't a huge walk over to the springs.

I am not familiar with OKW, so I couldn't tell you how they are set up, but SSR does take a bit of time to get through the stops and on your way.

and OKW not at all.

However, we stayed in the Grandstand, which is the first bus stop. You would still have to ride though the resort going to a park, but you'd be the first stop coming from the parks. We were always able to get a seat, and we usually had our pick. So, if sitting in a certain spot on the bus helps you (front, back, etc.), that may help as well.

Thanks,

If you were "at the last stop returning from the parks", that means you were in the Hospitality House booking category and bus stop. You should have just gotten off at the first stop (Peninsular Road) and walked back across the bridge like most of us do when we stay in the HH area.

FYI, I always feel like the stops at SSR are more "round and round" and would be a problem for some.

At OKW, when returning from the parks, the only time I stay on the bus past the first stop is if I'm staying at South Point.
Otherwise, I get off the bus at Peninsular Rd, and walk from there. This especially saves a lot of bus time if you would otherwise get off the bus at HH. And, I almost always am back at my room sooner than if I had stayed on the bus.

I agree. We did stay on the bus in December when we were on Old Turtle Pond Road, but that's because it was COLD out most nights!:)
