bus to parks from BWV, BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin

What is the order that the bus picks up at the 5 hotels? Is it always the same? Thanks!

From BWV, anytime I have taken it to MK recently it was Boardwalk-Swan-Dolphin. I drive to AK & DTD so I don't know those routes.

Depends on the time of day. Early runs usually go to BW, S, D and then on to the parks. They seldom include the YC/BC. But, once you get past rope drop time, the runs can be combined...then it can be BW,S, D, YC, and BC..but BW can sometimes be last vs first.

In December 2010 when I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn the only bus I took was to the Magic Kingdom and this is what I remember. After I got on the bus there was already guests on there since it just arrived from the Swan & Dolphin, so after it left the Boardwalk we were going right to the Magic Kingdom.

Then later that day when I was leaving the Magic Kingdom the order of stops was reserved, because the 1st stop was the Boardwalk and the 2nd stop was the Swan & Dolphin.

That is also what I remember from our last trip (October, 2010) for all the buses, including DD & the AK. Unless it was very, very late, the DD bus stopped at the water park on the way back to the BWV.

Bus routes seem to vary quite a bit for the EPCOT resorts. I never really know what to expect there.

We stay at S/D quite a bit & have rarely had the same route or number of stops. They must judge crowd levels & time of day & base it according to that.

On my last stay we always stopped at S/D after picking up at BW, no matter the park. And the Swan was always the first drop-off on the return, so I would get off there. YC/BC had their own bus, which I would take if there was no BW bus showing up.

Disney Bus Driver here....the routes go like this -

MK - BW, S & D both going to the park and coming back and in that order

DTD & AK - they do all 5 resorts in one run and they go in this order -

S, D, Y, BC & BW - that is going to the park and back to the resort

Epcot & St - You have to take the boat or walk there for both - they dont have bus service unless the boats are not running or the park closes later than the boats are running then they will make bus runs to these resorts.

At Epcot when the park is open late - they will use the Hollywood Studio (ST) load zone for the Epcot resorts and do them with the St route

People think the bus drivers just do the route however we want but we have strict routes we must follow and its pretty much the same everytime but just remember each park does each resort differently. So where DTD might go to your stop first, MK might do it last so you just have to find out how they do the routes. Usually AK and ST and Epcot do all the routes the same and MK and DTD are done differently.

I hope this is not confusing to you cus believe me it takes them 6 full weeks to train the bus drivers on it!! lol! Good Luck!

Have a great vacation and dont be afraid to ask a bus driver the best way to get around. We are trained and required to help people figure out the transportation on disney property. The bus drivers know alot - they know where things are like restaurants, shopping, etc. It annoys me when I'm in the park and I ask a cast member something about Disney and they dont know!! The bus drivers know disney trivia, facts about the company, etc. This is required of us!! So just dont be afraid to ask them cus we do enjoy helping our guests out!!

Also, it is a busy time right now so dont expect the buses to come every 20 minutes especially from DTD, DTD gets caught in traffic and its just slow going from there. You can wait up to 45 minutes for a bus at this time of year but seldom is it longer than that. Almost never is it an hour even though people will say they have been waiting for an hour but the bus drivers can hear what is being dispatched and we can hear when another bus has been dispatched before us or after us. Just some info for you.... Enjoy!!

Buses to MK, from BW, don't always stop at the S/D. How do I know this??? Well, there is always a time or two on each trip, when I get on the MK bus at BW. Then, as we get to the light where we would turn right, to get to the S/D, we just keep going!! I have actually cheered out loud on occasion..that got me some strange looks. The bus driver would just grin and give me the thumbs up.

I have to say that I had no idea you could take a bus to BW, from the front of Epcot. Not sure why I would want to do that...much faster just walking to BW from Epcot. And....I have to say that I would be really peeved if I was on the DHS bus, from Epcot, and we made 5 stops at the resorts before getting to DHS. Really annoying. I can't imagine that happens very often though.

When that happens has there been no one on the bus as you got on? Using my example the last time I took the Magic Kingdom bus from the Boardwalk there was already guests on there because it was already at the Swan/Dolphin, since we went right to the Magic Kingdom after it left the Boardwalk.

This is usually done only when DHS is closed, so the only ones going to DHS would be people who have parked there. And the bus is always supposed to stop at DHS first, if anyone is going there.

It's done as a courtesy to guests who didn't realize they could get to the Epcot resorts more easily thru the IG, rather than making them walk all the way back thru the park. At any other time, they would be told to take the bus to DHS and transfer to the boat.

It's been empty when stopped at BW...now, perhaps no one got on at the previous 4 stops, don't know. All I know is that I got on the MK bus, it was empty...and it didn't stop anywhere else.
Other times I have been on the bus and it has gone to the Swan, then Dolphin and then to MK.

Dang...another day with something learned!!!

Hi there :wave2: to MK from YC, does it only share the bus with BC? Does it ever share with BW, S & D? I'm interested in finding out about morning and evening. TIA!

The only time it would share with the other resorts besides BC is if late at night and there aren't that many people, then they start consolidating all the runs cus they have less buses. I am mostly a night time driver so I'm not sure about the morning but I'm pretty sure they run the YC and BC together and the BW, S&D together unless they are helping each other out. Like if say YC/BC bus is not too crowded and the crowds are terrible at the Swan, then the dispatchers might ask the YC/BC to help out and stop over at the Swan. The loadzones at MK are YC/BC and then BW/S/D so that is how they will do the route. I would say it would take a 1/2 hr from YC/BC to MK but always give yourself an hour to wait for the bus and get to the park because like I have said in other posts, you just dont know if there will be a wheelchair on your bus that will hold you up or if traffic will be bad. I hope this helps.

I routinely stay at BW, and sometimes at the S/D (can you tell I love that area??). Anyway...there have been many times I have taken the bus from BW to MK when we have also stopped at the YC/BC, during the day. IF it's early in the morning, around rope drop time, the buses won't be combined. It will be YC/BC on their own bus and the other three lumped together. BUT...during the day, when there is less guest need, the MK buses will service all 5 of the Epcot resorts.

So, for park opening and closing, YC/BC should have their own bus.

Off topic sorry!

Thanks, like I said sometimes during the morning and afternoon they do different things. I know at night we dont go to all 5 from MK (other parks do all 5 - DTD & AK) but I usually work during busy times so they have to keep them seperate. But then if they are doing all 5 from MK, they were told to go off route because that is not the "official and approved" route from MK. Sometimes when us bus drivers say things, people pipe in and say oh but we did it this way or that way but then that bus driver is going off route for some reason or another. We have "approved" routes and being trained in the last year, I pretty much know most of them but for some reason a bus driver will do something different because they were told by management or the dispatcher to do so to accomodate crowds. Just wanted to be clear so you dont think I'm giving you wrong info. I do work out of all the parks so I have to know all the routes but they can change it when they want to or they need to, doesnt mean thats the official route. Hope this helps!!
