Bus times from AKL??

We are thinking about staying at AKL. But, in the UG (from 2006), the bus times to MK are about 1 hr! We stayed at CSR in 2006 and one of the best things about it was the buses - they were usually empty and fast. Does it really take that long from AKL to MK? AKL is not that far from CSR, I didn't think it would take that much longer. We are going two days to MK, so that is most important to us.

It is definitely not one hour from AKL to MK! The AKL bus stop is right outside the entrance and we never waited for more than 10 minutes for a bus (if that long). The drive itself takes about 15 minutes (20 minutes, tops). We once had a really sloooooow driver who never exceeded 30 mph (seriously) and even then, we made it to MK in less than 30 minutes.

We never considered the travel time to be an issue when we stayed at AKL. It was nice not to have to share buses with other resorts either.

We were very worried about it and found that our bus times were less than at other resorts because we didn't share a bus with any other resort. Also, I couldn't prove it, but the AKL busses seemed to show up more often than the ones for other resorts. It was not an issue at all.

I completely agree 100% w/this! AKL doesn't take 1 hr to get anywhere. We were very impressed w/the bus service & I believe too that there were more AKL busses. The wait for a bus was from 0-9 min depending on which park you are at. It took 5 min to AK, 10-12 min to MGM/Epcot, 16-18 min to MK.

Thanks for the info! We also loved the busses at CSR and they don't share also, so its good to know that it seems similiar at AKL.

Hm, something seems wrong with UG. I have it but never noticed that, the Passporter guide I have lists it at 20 minutes to MK I believe, but its actually quicker than that once you're on the bus for sure. WDW simply isn't all that big, 47 square miles right? Thats not much distance in anyone direction unless its a 1 x 47 mile long strip .

When we stayed at AKL last year it only took about 15 minutes maybe 25 is the longest it will take but not too long and AKL has its own best service and we only waited about 5 minutes for a bus at a time

AKL gets the worst rep for bus times, and it is so untrue!! We found we had BETTER bus service from AKL than the Beach Club because AKL doesn't share a bus with any other resort.
