Bus system for OKW and AKL

We are considering a 2BR suite at OKW or AKL. My big concern is convenience with using the bus system. We do not want to use a car. Will we be spending an hour each way on the bus going to the parks? How will our transport time compare to staying at WL? Thanks for any help

I've stayed at both, along with Epcot and monorail resorts. I thought the bus transportation was fine at both OKW and AKL.

We stayed at Kidani earlier this year and never had a problem with the bus time. Sometimes you wait for one to get there (like anywhere) but the time on the bus was very reasonable.

I haven't stayed at OKW, but have at AKL. The bus service from AKL to MK should take about 15 to 20 minutes and you will arrive at the Main Entrance to MK - not at the TTC. It's not bad if you don't have a car, however I would highly recommend using a car. We loath the bus service and use our car 99% of the time to go to/from each of the parks. The bus service is so slow and it feels like we lose an entire day using Disney transportation during our weeks stay.

We have stayed at OKW many times..rarely ever had a bus issue and never more then a 20 min trip to anywhere on the system.

Stayed at AKL last August and never had a problem with the bus system. One of the best!!

We've stayed at both resorts many times. In fact, Kidani this spring and OKW this summer. Even though AKL is farther from the parks, I think transportation time between parks is about the same. There are only 2 stops at AKL....Kidani and Jambo. OKW has multiple stops and it takes FOREVER to get around the whole resort....especially if ECV's are being loaded. We have a split stay coming up for spring break and will be at Kidani for a week....not worried about the buses at all.
