Bus service

Has anyone else experienced consistently long bus waits this week. We are at BWV and have had extremely long waits all week. We wondered if it has to do with that new transportation service that you have to pay extra to use. We finally gave up on the Disney Springs bus after 50 minutes tonight. We were going to meet friends but it became so late and they were going to Cirque so we had to give up. But all week it has been like this. We have never experienced this before.

We were at SSR last week and experienced some pretty long wait times. It seems to be the norm for us the last few trips. We waited over 30 minutes for an MK bus only for it to come to our stop already full and keep on driving, so we ended up going to Epcot and doing the monorail thing to get to MK. It was really the only complaint we had about our trip, the transportation just seems to keep getting worse.

For some reason I thought they were suppose to come every 20 minutes. But that isn't happening at all. My husband thinks they are trying to sell that new service for transportation by making the waits extremely long for the regular buses.

I'm pretty sure the new transportation service is park-to-park only, isn't it? In that case it should have no impact on regular bus service.

And yes, Disney "advertises" that buses run about every 20 minutes. I think that 30 minutes is a long wait, 50 minutes is crazy. I think that the continued expansion of ECVs getting on and off at almost every stop has thrown their schedule into a mess. And they don't want to add more buses to make up for that time. Usually we are not on a tight schedule so we don't care all that much. But if we have to make an ADR, for example, we just use a cab or Uber.

Disney schedules transportation based on history, resort occupancy numbers, and wait times for transportation. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they don't. Hard to predict what guests will do 100% of the time and when they will want to use transportation.

Well I am guessing a lot of people complained about the bus schedule at BW because today a cast member was at the stop with a computer and seemed to be monitoring the buses. She mentioned that they are looking at a new system or something like that, so maybe this won't be an ongoing problem.
