Bus, Golf Cart? newbie needs help!

We are headed to the fort for the first time in August. We will have two cabins, eight people (Me, DH, DSs 6 &10, Mom, Dad, Sis & friend)

We were debating renting a golf cart, but only one will fit in the budget. Is it worth it to rent the cart and make two trips, or would it be easier just to use the busses since there are 8 of us?

We are mainly concerned about sleepy kids at the end of the night and Dad who had a stroke last year and may spend part of the day in a wheelchair.

Also, I know there are outside companies that rent larger carts. Is there any trouble using the big carts at FW? online they look like busses! Does anyone have an idea of the prices for those (I have emailed one of the companies, but have not heard back)

Sorry for so many questions, I'm new to FW and getting anxious!

We just use the buses, but a lot of people like the carts. It would seem to me that making two trips would be a big hassle given the traffic and distance. I have seen the larger ones used by Disney and I bet they would not be cheap to rent, I dont think disney rents their larger ones.

I checked into the larger carts and they are up there. The company we rent from has the regular carts for $250 and I want to say the large carts are $400 a week. But I'm not postive...here is the number of the company we use.

they don't require a deposit but you do have to use a check or cash for payment.

They deliver and pick up at your site....we wouldn't stay without a cart but it is definately a personal thing

We just got back and had a party of 5 most of the time that fit in the cart, but had family visit for meals a few nights that required two golf cart trips. I believe that it would have been quicker to take the buses than make the two trips. The buses come quite often and have 3 different buses on 3 different routes, so you aren't likely to make a ton of stops.

If you can get one of the big carts then you would solve your problem of two trips, plus you'll feel like a king! lol

I say rent a cart!! you dont have to wait for the buses and you can venture on your own and explore the campground!!!!!!!!
