Day Nine-Saturday 10/13

Our last day :(
I am up early to finish packing our bags. We grab a quick breakfast at Roaring Forks and my husband does some more video taping of WL. One last trip to the gift store for me!
My sister doesnt leave until tomorrow so she drives us to airport.

When I had called last week we had assigned seat all together. Well now, they merged 2 flights and we have 4 seats all over the plane!! My girls are crying, I started crying! The flight attendants were sooooo rude and had no compassion. I will not let my 4 year old sit by herself, there is just no way. Luckily when we get on the plane, people see my girls crying and are willing to switch seats with us so I could sit with them while my husband had the baby ahead of us. Just what we needed, some stress to end our vacation.

We land in Chicago where there is a HUGE storm going on and flooding everywhere. Gosh its good to be home. NOT!

I miss you WDW!

too bad your trip ended on a sour note. I really enjoyed all of your reports. It sounds like you guys all had a ball and made some wonderful memories. I also LOVE your sons name!

which airline did you fly? you would think they can't really afford to be rude to people right now.

Thank you!
Declan is an irish name. We first heard it in the movie The Jackel. It was Richard Gere's name in the movie and we liked it. Most people hate it (like my mom) .
We did have a great time. I miss it!

We flew ATA and I was very disppointed with their rude service. You woild think they would be nicer to you considering the whats going on in the world today.

Would love to have any helpful hints that you used with your one year old. We leave in 2 weeks and our DS will turn one during the trip!

He was really a good boy during the trip. He hadnt started walking yet, so it made things a little easier (he started walking 2 days after wecame back). He spent a lot of time in his stroller, so when we did get back to the hotel we always get him naked and let him play in the bathtub for a while. That alwasy made him happy.
He took naps in the stroller.
He really enjoyed all the musical shows and parades.
With the characters he was a little afraid at first, but by the end of the week he was kissing them! I found he didnt not like loud restuarants.
I think the hardest part was food/eating.
Most restaurants didnt have highchairs with trays which made things kind of messy. It was hard when you are doing so much and runnung around to feed them as much as they need. I kepy him on formula for the trip so that I could always have powder ready to make a bottle.
Visit the baby stations, they are so nice! If you need anything (diapers, jar food, medicine) they have it! Plus they have padded chaning tables with mobiles, a kitchen wioth microwave and a tv area that they can crawl around in.
Overall it went better than I had expected with him!
Good luck and have fun!!!!
Janice

Thanks for taking the time to post your trip report. I enjoyed reading it. :)

I ran into the same thing earlier this year, when we were all separated from each other on the plane. The flight attendant basically told me that someone had to volunteer to give up their seat, she could not require someone to move - my youngest is 3 and there's no way I was going to let him sit by himself. Luckily a nice man got up and moved for us. My DS6 had to sit by himself, but I could see him from where I was sitting. He didn't seem to mind too much - he slept for most of the trip and the two people on either side of him were talking to him before and after his nap.

You stole my vacation! (Just kidding) Seriously, I read all of your trip reports and enjoyed them so much.......I could just see that baby dancing with the characters & waving his napkin. How was the WL? I want to stay there next........WL or the Poly.

I was at WL same time as JBurke - Hi Janice. We had e-mailed a few times before our trips. They are a very friendly family and have wonderful children. Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous. We met a few times at the pool.

Definately stay at WL!!!
I cant imagine staying anywhere else now...we are spoiled!
It is such a beautiful hotel. I bet you could spend a whole week checking out all its nooks and crannies!
