Day 8-Boo hoo its our last day in WDW
Mickey wakes us up at 9am son that we can finish packing. We bought way too many souveniers and Mike ends up going down to the gift store to buy another suitcase! By 10:30am the bags are packed and we go check out, stopping by Roaring Forks for breakfast. Get in the car and we stop AKL to take a look around. It is a very pretty resort but now we know for sure we like WL better! The lobby seemed smaller and darker and its a hike to the pool. We walked the animla trails but really didnt see too many animals. We stopped by their food court and to my surprise I saw that you could buy prepackaged containers containing zebra domes and chocolate mouse crunch! I always wanted to try zebra domes but didnt care to eat at Boma. So I forked out the $4 to try some.YUMMY!
After our quick tour, we were off to AK to finish up what we didnt see earlier in the week. After a quick detor to Camp Minnie (I read the times wrong for the Lion King show) we headed back to Dinoland and let the kids dig in the boxes area. We only lasted 15 minutes due to the heat. Since I had missed Primeval Whirl earlier in the week, Mike, girls and I went on while Laura took Declan on Tricertops Spin (no wait). Its a fun but bumpy ride-I have bruises to prove it.
Next we decided to do the safari again. While in line for the safari the CM that takes your stroller noticed my husbands water mister and thought it was such a good idea. SHe also liked that we had a plastic rain cover on the stroller and our matching t-shirts that said "Burke Family Vacation Disneyworld 2003". When we got off the safari (very nice again-giraffes were almost right up at the jeep) we went to get our stroller. Underneath our rain cover was a certificate that said "Thank you for helping create Disney's Animal Kingdom Memories. We certify that this moment during your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort was magical-Burke Family (maker of memories) Most Prepared for a 2 Week Safari-signed by Becky" WASNT THAT THE SWEETETST!! Our very own Magical Moment!!!!!!!!!!!
Next stop was the train to Rafiki's Plant Wacth-main purpose to see Stanley! What a greta place to see the charcters. No one was there so we got to see Stanley, Rafiki and Pocohantus. We looked around and skipped the petting zoo (can pet goats for free by our own house) We get back to Harambe just before the parade. They were just putting tape down so we got a front row seat. We love that parade-such great music.
Its only a 10 minute parade so we are off to see the 4:45 Lion King show. We were in the giraffe section (still not sure what sound a giraffe makes). That Circle of Life song always chokes me up. The only bummer was a rude family behind us. THe mom complained about how the Broadway show is so much better and the goth teenage son complained about how he hated the show and didnt want to be there. They were so loud in their complaints that Mike finally turned around and told them to hush so that atleast our kids could enjoy it. I guess the dad seemed pretty embarrresed by his family. We warned our kids they better not ever act like that when they are teens!!
Time to say goodbye to WDW now and we are off to the airport for an uneventful flight home to Chicaog. Arriving at 9:30pm.
