Burgers, Ribs, and Tacos OH MY ~

Picky eaters DD and DS, both typical teenagers, would be happy eating burgers, ribs, and tacos/fajitas the entire time we are WDW. Also, throw in a good pizza and they are happy as pigs in ....you know what.

I have been reading the boards and see that The Fountain has good burgers. We will probably try that. Any other burger suggestions ???

San Angel is probably a good fit for Mexican but DS just eats beef tacos. I see they have those on the kids menu but he is 15. Has anyone ever ordered the "kids" tacos for a non-child ?? Just wondered if San Angel was okay with that ....

Also, where in the World are some good ribs ? Any park, resort, DTD etc. We will have a car and are open to going anywhere.

We like Cosmic Rays for burgers, but mainly due to the toppings bar. It has cheese sauce, mayo, ketchup, grilled onions and pickles, among other things, so you can make the burger to your liking. They also have ribs there but I have not had them.

We also have always like the burgers at Beaches and Cream. They are among the tastiest I have had at WDW.

You are in luck! Bahama Breeze has outstanding ribs, and I am very discriminating. Their baby back ribs have a caramelized guava sauce and are very succulent and tender.

The issue with San Angel is that they serve Mexican Food not the Tex Mex that Taco Bell serves. I looked at the child's menu and it looks like you get one taco with rice and vegetables as sides. Is that going to be enough?

Even the CS outside, La Cantina de San Angel, doesn't serve Tex Mex.

I have that same issue my 20 year old, he only eats pizza, chicken fingers and maybe a plain cheeseburger with raw onions. We just don't do TS and it makes life easier. We also will not be doing a breakfast buffet, like Boma, since its just not worth $20 for him to eat two bagels. We are either go to go to Whispering Canyon Cafe and some of us can get the skillet or the GF cafe just see the resort.

As another poster has said, Cosmic Ray's has ribs. My mom was a big fan of them. My son tried them last year and has decided the chicken and rib platter is what he is going to order there from now on.

My husband and son both love the ribs at Flametree BBQ at the AK. My husband doesn't often order ribs out but wanted to try these when he smelled the food from Flametree.

My son also really liked the ribs at T-Rex. Seriously large portions of food here and it's really good. I believe they have tacos, too. But I'm a vegetarian, so honestly I didn't pay attention to that part of the menu.

Another place that has ribs that they have tried in the past was at Whispering Canyon. They offer the all you care to eat skillet. Ribs, pulled pork, chicken and brisket.

As for tacos.. There is the CS in Mexico, but should you be at the MK when it's open the Tortuga Tavern also has tacos and taco salad.

I have read that the Fountain has great burgers, my husband is thinking about trying that this year. He also loves the burgers Liberty Tree Tavern offers for lunch. They are really big! I've also read good things about Beaches and Cream. And my son really likes the burgers at Rainforest Cafe as well.

Your 20 yr old sounds just like both of my kids. At least DD will try other things. DS not so much.

But like I said the restaurants at the Mexican Pavilion serves real Mexican as in food served in Mexico which I think is different that the Mexican, really Tex Mex, you are used to. In Mexican cooking its mostly soft corn tortillas with meat and maybe some veg but not a lot of cheese and definitely no sharp cheddar or Monterey jack.

Just don't go there expecting Chi Chi's or Don Pablo's.

The "Mexican" at Tortuga Tavern (formerly El Pirata y el Perico) sounds more like Tex Mex.

We only do CS because we don't want to spend the money or the time for TS and we don't go to WDW to eat.

actual mexican that you might be used to is Chevy's which is in Crossroads straight accross the road at the end of Hotel boulevard by downtown Disney.

Pecos Bills in MK has good burgers and taco salad, and the fixings bar for your burgers includes the regular toppings, lettuce, cheese, onions, and sautee'd mushrooms which is pretty unique.

Flame Tree BBQ in AK has good ribs. Cape May Cafe's dinner buffet has good seafood but also has very good ribs; might be a nice compromise for the whole family.

Another CS option would be to visit Pepper Market at CSR. It's kind of a food court with a lot of options that would include tacos and fajitas as well as burgers and salads and even steak.
