Bunk beds, I want to raise them just a bit, who has the perfect solution?

It's time to get bunkbeds for grandkids. Toddler beds aren't working any more. But I want to put a trundle under. But also don't want the trundle to have a 5 inch mattress. Seeing one bed I like, but am afraid it might be just a tad to low for a trundle. I don't want those 3 or 4 inch stands, I'd be afraid kids jumping around the the risers give way. But something about .5 -1 inch would be super. I'm wondering about the chair legs slip on floor protectors if they might work well enough.

Any ideas?

Assuming the bed frame is wood, I'd just nail/screw a piece of wood to the bottom of each leg.

I saw them, but I don't want several inches. I think to much danger with kids jumping.

I like BorderTenny idea with a piece of wood attached to the bottom.

I used to have a metal one for my kids, there was plenty of room underneath for a trundle. I got one from walmart, but they also have them on amazon. The good thing about the metal one is the weight limit was higher and the space in between the top and bottom bunks were higher so my kids were able to use them for longer.

Weight limit is 220 each bed. Mattress thickness is 8 inches.

I was looking at this one on amazon....https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GQJLHJ9/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 but noticed not much space about the mattress on the top bed. They say 6 inch mattress for top bunk.

Right now these are for kids who are just getting out of toddler beds. Need them for about 2 weeks a year. One has a bunk bed at her home so nothing new for her.

I had a set of those for about 10 minutes. The twin bed twisted and fell, making a hole in the wall.

I intend to buy a set of bunks for my grandchildren -- but we're "not there yet"; actually, I'm going to do built-ins (because I have just the right spot to do it). I'm definitely going to go with extra-long bunks. My son-in-law is tall, and I anticipate my grandson will be too.

are you looking for bedding for 2 or 3 kids? if 2 why not go for a daybed with a trundle that slides underneath. no worry of jumping from a height-and the added advantage is you can pop up the trundle which is the same height as the daybed, put a king sized fitted mattress pad on the two along with a sheet-and have a king sized for other visitors.

I have 2 still in toddler beds plus one that has been sleeping on an air mattress for ages. My thought was to get bunkbeds for the 2 and use the trundle in another room but store under the bunk. The kids have bunkbeds at home, so used to them.

In the room we would put the bunk, we also have a twin bed, so no room for a king anything.

My mom did a bunk with a trundle for my trio. It was all sold as one set, so bottom was already designed to be tall enough to fit the trundle. I would try that route before I put a bunk bed on risers.

I was looking not really at risers like a few inches but something just to add a bit smidge. I didn't want the trundle to have a thin mattress just so it would fit.

To end this story, I did find a bunk bed with 10 inches clearance under the bottom bunk. So no need to worry about adding another else to bunk.

I found a bunkbed that has enough clearance for my needs. Didn't need to adjust anything.
