Looking at booking a March 2016 trip to DL!!! Have not been there since the DAY BEFORE the California park opened... the kids have never been.

I am hoping to book a room with bunk beds, totally good with a good neighbor hotel walking distance to DL.

I have looked at and am considering the HOJO, but wanted tosee if the all-knowing DIS knew of other options.

TIA!

Since you are going next year, the new Courtyard Marriott will be open next to HOJO and it will have bunk beds in every room. Also the Park Vue Inn has bunk beds in some of its rooms as well. We are going in February and we are going with the Hojo. I personally just really love the ambiance of this hotel and it's close and you see the fireworks from this hotel really well.

Will look into them, thanks! The HOJO does look great and I think the waterpark and fireworks viewing would be great on our first night when we are adjusting to the time difference and travel wear and tear. :)

I don't think the HoJo bunk bed rooms overlook the fireworks - they are in the tall building (1) but face I-5. Having said that, we love HoJo's and are going back in a few weeks. Love the water playground especially (and hot tub we sit in when DD5 plays on the water slide and in the fountains). We've stayed in the queen + bunk bed and more recently kids suite which has bunk beds in 1 room and a king bed in the other. We also had a bunk bed room at the Grand Californian which we loved but when we got AP's this past summer we decided we'd rather go twice as often and stay at HoJo's.

I do want to check out the new Courtyard some day but it won't be open in time for our next trip.

The Portofino Inn and Suites, Desert Palms Suites, Del Sol, and Park Vue Inn all have rooms with bunk beds. Haven't stayed at any of those places so I don't have a review. Researched places with bunk beds since we are a family of 5 :-)

The Hyatt Orange County has family suites with bunk beds. It is *not* within walking distance, however. I do not mind taking the Hyatt shuttle; I have always found it to be reliable.

The Hyatt doesn't seem to get a lot of love around this board, but it's my choice when I can't stay onsite. I'm not a motel person, and I admit to being a bit of a hotel snob. Their customer service has always been great, and they have a Starbuck's in the lobby :-)

HoJo's bunkbed rooms sell out early so I would suggest at least gettign a cancellable reservation if you are thinking of there.

I like the look of the new Courtyard with the water park, as mentioned all rooms have bunk beds, and that water park looks very cool. Great location too though the choices for restaurants in the immediate area is pretty limited.

I have had many a night in a Homewood Suite (Victor, NY) and I do like their hotels. The location is quite a walk BUT they are right next to the entrance to Toy Story parking lot with their regular buses.

Good luck with the planning, the first visit with kids will be amazing!

Thanks guys! Lots to look into! I think we will book something that can be canceled...

Actually just booked Fairfield Inn with a theme room and fold out chair. Saved $300 over bunk beds and got a bit of Disney theme :)

We are big on-site WDW folks so opted for the themed room.

Thanks again!

I agree the NEW Courtyard Anaheim…you can cancel up to 48 hours before your stay.

Hi - We just returned from a stay at the Staybridge Suites at the Convention Center. We had one of the Family Suites that had a Double Queen with a family room with a sofa sleeper and bunk beds. It was very clean. Very comfortable. The bathroom separates the room with the double beds from the room with the sofa sleeper/bunk beds. There is a mini-fridge and a microwave. Breakfast is OK - nothing special but it has waffles, scrambled eggs, pastries, yogurt, juice, etc. Since the hotel is new, it is very clean and comfortable. There is a CVS downstairs for everything you may have forgotten to pack. Easy walk to the park. We had a great time!!

I second the Hyatt Regency in a kids suite room as well , we totally loved the location,(close to many great dining options, target, Starbucks, and free oc trolley to outlet shops).
