I am going to my first Bunco part tonight.

I have heard its a no brainer but I have no idea what to even expect.

Help?

I am going to bunco tonight, too. It is my 4th time. It is really just an excuse to socialize and about the easiest dice game in the world. As long as you can roll a pair of dice and hold a glass of wine you should be okay. Your teamates will explain it.

No more difficult than Yahtzee ;).

We play our own set of rules so YMMV on what they actually do...

We only play 1 game--too much socializing going on :).

There are 6 rounds per game....

There are 6 numbers on the dice...

First round you try to get 1's...

Second round you try to get 2's....

So on and so forth.

We play to 21--when the head table reaches 21..the game is over. Your team wins if they are the higher score (or if at the head table, you reached 21).

We do Bunko's and on the town's---

our house rules...."on the town" is all the dice the same number. Automatic 5 points for scoring and you get to roll again. "Bunko" is all dice the same number as the round you are on (so on Round 1, you roll all 1's....Round 5, you roll all 5's). We score an automatic 21 points for this. For the head table--the round immediately is over...for the other tables...you just have a massive lead.

Rules may vary according to the house--but that is the basic idea.

There is always someone who knows what is going on and how to score--so if you lose track...there is always some help.

HAVE FUN!!!

Our group plays differently. Any Bunco for us is 3 6's. You get one point for every 6 you roll (unless its 3 at the same time, then its Bunco) and you get 5 points for 3 of a kind. The head table does roll to 21.

At the head table you keep your partner. At the other 2 tables losers stay and switch partners, winners move to another table and switch partners as well.

Some groups grab a bunco like a free for all, our group does not do that.

Just see how your group plays its pretty easy to catch on and someone is always willing to help you learn the ropes.

I've only been a couple times, but the only real skill you need to have is the ability to :drinking1 , popcorn:: and :hyper2: . I'm pretty good at all those things and had fun. I think there was some dice game going on, but I could be wrong.

If you are going to be with a bunch of people you know, you will have a great time!!!

If you are going with a bunch of grumpy, crotchety old ladies, you might want to take some extra :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

LOL ok Im back and it was great.

There were several of us who had never played so that made it easy and it was a blast! I got to know some great ladies :)

Thanks for all the tips Im hosting in April Ill be back with more questions LOL

I've never heard of Bunco:confused3 but if it's like what the others said I may need to look into it.

I never heard of bunco until the WPASADI game and someone there talking about it. Not sure I would like the game cause I don't like Yatzee...but I'd like the drinking, eating and chatting part of it.;)

My neighborhood started our group back in December. It is a blast and a great way for us ladies to meet (its a brand new neighborhood). We play the grab for the dice when someone roles a Bunko and it is a hoot. We have so much fun.

I host in May and I can't wait.

A friend of mine is in a Bunco group and I never had any idea what she was talking about. But she said she likes the drinking/eating/gossiping part of it, so I thought it was just an excuse to party.;) Sounds fun.:thumbsup2

It isn't quite like Yatzee...just an easy way to explain it.

So easy to get into though.;)

yeah I wouldnt say its like yahtzee so much.

You just roll the dice. There are 3. If you get whatever number youre trying for you get a point. If you get 2 of that number you get 5 points. If you get 3 of that number you get Bunco.

At least that is how we play. It goes really fast!

I play in a few groups, and it's really fun! There is absolutely no skill or thinking required, which is why it goes well with wine. We all play for cash.
