I didn't even realize that you had to pick it up by yesterday. I thought I had until the end of the week.

My Dad passed away and his funeral was Monday & Tuesday. Since I wasn't cooking for Thanksgiving I thought I would go to SR today to get my free turkey & food shop. When I looked in the sale flyer last night I realized it had to be picked up by yesterday. :headache: I could have sworn I picked it up after Thanksgiving other years too.....

I guess in the big picture of the week I had, I shouldn't even be upset by this. If I went to customer service, do you think they would do anything for me? Or should I not even bother??

I am so sorry for your loss. Naturally, a free turkey was the furthest thing from your mind. It won't hurt to ask them if you can still get your turkey. The worst that they can do is say no.

I happened to stop there yesterday, and realized that it was the last day. In years past you could pick it up through that Saturday. I agree that you should ask.

I'd bring a copy of your Dad's obit and go to customer service and ask very politely. Explain to them that you'll completely understand if they can't help you, but this is what happened (show them your bonus card and the obit which will no doubt name you as his daughter) and ask if they can make an exception just this once. Worst that happens is they say no. I know I recently had one of the $5 off a purchase coupons that I'd earned and it expired the day of that freak october snowstorm the east coast had. I went in a few days later and asked nicely and they said they'd honor it.

If you think about it, it doesn't cost them anything they hadn't already expected to spend and they can guarantee customer loyalty by doing it.

It certainly couldn't hurt to ask. I'd at least talk to the manager or the customer service desk and see.
