We are renting points and staying at OKW for the first time. I was wondering which buildings have the best locations. We will have our DS2 and his grandparents so we would like to be close to the main places.

Rather than specify a building number, just have it noted on your request that you want to be near the hospitality house.

I have stayed at OKW several times. I prefer building # 14. It is the first building on the left when you enter the resort. The bus stop is in front of the building. The main pool and store are in front of the building as well which is great if you have kids going. The building also overlooks the golf course. I think the other buildings next to it are 12 and 13 but not sure.

What size unit are you renting - if it is a 1 BR I would ask for a building number 30 or greater as the access to the bathroom for the people sleeping in the living room will be through the laundry room instead of the master bedroom which it is in the lower numbered buildings. The way to get to the main pool etc is get on any bus and get off at the last stop which is the hospitality house and main pool area.

It truly does depend on what size unit you are staying in. If you are in a studio, you do NOT want any building where you might be right on the road should you get the unit on a road end. The one I can specifically think of like that is 29. All studios at OKW are on the two ends of the buildings, so an end near a road could have road noise. If you are in a 1 or 2 bedroom unit and will have folks staying in the living room, then a building 30 or above is best because it will have an extra door into the master bath through the laundry room. If you are in a dedicated 2 bedroom, then just ask to be near Hospitality House or near a bus stop. ALL buses stop at Hospitality House before leaving the resort, so you are always as near HH as the nearest bus stop. Here is the OKW map.

We are renting points for OKW in December and the guy we rented from requested a dedicated 2 bedroom by the Hospitality House. Is this a good location?

Thanks everyone!

We are staying in a 2 bedroom. Noone will be staying in the living room. We will probably request a dedicated 2BDR near the hospitality house. Can the dedicated 2BDR be guaranteed?

So, when you are asking for a dedicated 2 bedroom.....you just don't want the lock-off features (doors in-between living room and bedroom...fridge/kitchen area in studio)

traveling with small children and grandparents, request a room on the first or second floor. OKW doesnt have elevators and you may have to carry your own luggage up to your room. OKW does have bell service, but we find it easier and faster to carry our own luggage to the room.

we just stayed in building 48, great view, walked across the street or drove across the street to the quite pool, there is a bus stop at the end of the building. drove to the main pool. It is further in the the resort but very quite.

So if you are not in a building close to the Hospitality House, do you have to drag your luggage across the resort to your building? We may not have a car and I would hate to have to tote everything from one end to the other.

If you are using Magical Express your luggage will be delivered to your room once it arrives and your room is ready. The only thing you would have is your carry on stuff. The bell services people took us in a golf cart to our room in bld 55 last year so we could leave the carryon things there before we went to the parks. We did tip him. If you room is not ready and you have luggage you can leave it wil bell services and then request they bring it to the room once you are there.

Dedicated is a booking catagory at OKW. If you book a dedicated, that is what you will be in. If not, you MAY get a lock off unit. The only difference between a dedicated an lock off unit is that the lock off iw like a 1 bedroom and studio connected. Each will have an entrance to the outside, and there will be a locking door between the second bedroom and the living room, should you choose to use it.

No, you can always let guest services bring your luggage to your room. They might even be able to take you in their cart too if you aren't arriving when magical express arrives and they are very busy.

Hello all. Wow, this seems like a really big place! We are arriving May 14, I had first requested a pool view, and then yesterday switched to water view hoping to see some boats???

Which is the main pool with the sandcastle? Where is the food? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.

We have ME so I'm not worried about luggage, but I would prefer to not grab a bus to go to the pool or restuarant. I also understand about not wanting to be near the road - we are very light sleepers.

Any suggestions? Other threads?

TIA!
