2 adults going to CBR in May. Woo woooooooooooo! What is the best building to request to stay at?

For smokers we always request Trinidad North. which is the first bldg next to the OPR For Non-smoking I believe it is Martinique. Not sure of which bldg. When are you going? We are going May10-17

Wr're going DEC 26-JAN3 to CBR and we requested the Martinique building. Im curious why thats the best for non-smokers (which we are)...............how beneficial are requests this early in the reservation making process?

When I made a reservation for CBR a year ago, the CM asked me if I had any special requests. I asked for Martinique Bldg 25 (on Seaspray's recommendation, by the way). The CM asked me if there was anything else. I asked for nonsmoking. She asked if there was anything else. I said no. She said, "How about ground floor? I think that's nicer than climbing stairs all the time." I said we would love it. When we checked in months later, we got all three things. Perfect location; Seaspray was right on target.

wow! Someone mentioned my name!! :teeth:

I'm so glad the room location recommendation worked out for you! I still think Martinique 25 is one of the best, if not THE best, location at CBR :) (Of course we all have different preferences, but I feel it's the best location because it's convenient to the food court, main pool, Martinique pool, and bus stop!) :)

Another vote for Martinique. We stayed in Martinique 26 and found it to be very convenient to 2 bus stops and OPR plus the main pool and a quiet pool. We had a courtyard view but could see the beach since we had a corner room.

Hubbie and I stayed at CBR for our honeymoon last May/June. Matinique IS a great location, BUT we would highly recommend Aruba or Jamaica for adults who want a bit of romance while still having some convenience.

We found that the "islands" nearest the OPR had quite a few families. This is most likely due to how close they are to the main pool and food. However, we stayed in Jamaica which is only about a 5 minute walk to OPR. Basically, from OPR, you just walk straight across the beautiful (and romantic) Parrot Cay island and then you are in Aruba (Jamaica is next door). We found this to be a much quieter area - especially at night. Hardly any children in the quiet pools and the walk across the island is sooooo romantic.

Good Luck and Have Fun!!

If you want to be close to Old Port Royale (OPR-the Food Court area), Martinique and Trinidad North are the best bets. We also stayed at Martinique 25 and it was perfect! We were close to our car, the bus stop and OPR, all at the same time! (Note that Trinidad North is mostly smoking rooms. If you want non-smoking, request Martinique). If you want convenience but want a little more privacy, then Jamaica and Aruba are the way to go. They are about a 5 minute walk away from OPR, through a footbridge and Parrot Cay (the 'island' in the center of the lake), but it's a very nice walk. The added benefit here is that they are usually the first stops for the buses.

Ask for a first-floor room if you want convenience; ask for a second floor room (away from the stairs) if you want less traffic. CBR has no elevators.

Trinidad South and Barbados are the buildings farthest from Old Port Royale, so unless you REALLY like to walk or jog, avoid them.

Have fun!:)

Martinique is great if you want to be close to the food court and action. We LOVED Jamaica. We requested it for our June 2000 trip and would request it again. Short walk across the bridge and more romantic than being on top of everything such as the theme pool and a steel drum band. Plus, during our trip Jamaica was picked up first and dropped off first by buses. Can't beat it. :) Good luck! :)

Unless you've got a 100% reason to stay so close to the OPR foodcourt area (handicap, old mother-in-law, small kids) then you're foolish not to choose the best island at the CBR.....

Jamaica.

Building 45 is right at the foot of the bridge that crosses over to the OPR area and gives you the best combination of privacy / crowds at Disney.

I'd be there right now instead of Aruba 52 if not for the damned Cheertubbies infesting Jamaica.
