Is the Build-a-Bear in DTD any different than any other one? More expensive, more Disney items, anything? Thanks!

It's about the same as our local. There is an upstairs for parties which is different and makes it nice if there is a party. They had groovy girl/ ty girl girl looking dolls that could be dressed as a princess. There were a few Disneyland outfits. But otherwise, about the same.

The last time I was there they had Mickey and Minnie bears and more Disney costumes than I see at the stores. You used to be able to order the Mickey and Minnie bears online, but I see that they are no longer offered there. I am not sure if they were retired at the DTD store too or if they available there. They are super cute. My DC have them.

What IS a Mickey BEAR? Is it a Mouse or really a bear? Sounds adorable!!

It's actually a minnie mouse and mickey mouse stuffed animal. Here's a link to BAB's website showing the picture. Mickey http://www.buildabear.com/shop/prod...y=Limited+Editions&CallingPage=ProductSummary

It's definitely bigger than our local BAB and they also have a stuff your own doll not found at our local BAB. In terms of prices, they are the same at all BABs i believe and downtown disney is a 2 story store.

When we went to the DTD Build A Bear, we bought a cute Disneyland outfit for my daughters bear. It was a Disneyland logo tee, mickey gloves, and mickey ears for the bear came with it. Our regular store doesn't carry it.

The Mickey and Minnie "bears" are Mickey and Minnie Mouse stuffed animals, but they are sized so that they can wear any of the BAB outfits. I thought the quality of the Mickey and Minnie was really nice and DD and DS love the fact that they dress each up as different Disney characters. DS has the woody outfit for his Mickey and DD has princess Aurora for Minnie. They come in their traditional outfits.

I know we'll definately be spending some $$ there and I will definately be buying the Disneyland T and Mickey gloves and ears hat for DD's bear. :goodvibes

All DD6 is really concerned about at the moment though is "please remember to bring her (DD's BAB bear) passport mummy so we can get it stamped to prove she's been to DL!" :lmao:

I just went there today actually- it was a little busy, but they had a LOT. They had a bunch of disney princess outfits, plus disney themed shirts as well which was really cool.

Another plus was that I got 10% off with the deluxe AP!

the thing to note is that upstairs is identical to downstairs and i believe has registers as well.

but to sum it all up, there are exclusive outfits (mickey/minnie, YOMD) that aren't available anywhere else, even online. Mickey & Minnie were/are available online (it changes) and are purchasable at only 3 stores I believe, Anaheim being one of them.

so probably not worth it to build a new bear, but definitely worth it to check out the exclusive outfits (tshirt, mickey hands and mickey ears)

well, not exactly identical. There were a lot more outfits upstairs, and dolls too.

But it was considerably LESS busy upstairs (and there was a party!)
