For those of you who has a build a bear, did you give out goody bags. At firt I though that I was not going to do it cause they are getting a bear, but yesterday I was thinking maybe I should.

good question, i would love to hear an answer. we just booked a party for my dd's 7th b-day in may. i was wondering the same thing.....

We had a BAB party for DD's 4th last year and did not give out goodie bags. BAB puts a few things in the box with the bear - they got pins, some sort of card came and a coupon for $5 off another bear. I spent $25 per bear and didn't see the need for extra goodies.

We just went to a BAB Party. We didn't get pins or a coupon for a follow up visit. That would have been nice.Anyways, sorry.

As a guest, my friend's and I didn't expect the kids to get anything else. The bear was a favor in itself. And it was fun!

Have fun!!

When is your dd 7th b-day? I book this party for my dd who will be 7 May 9.

I picked $15 per a person. With 11 kids invited. I am hoping not all will come then I will up the amount per a person.

We did a build-a-bear party for my DD 3rd b-day. Because they wouldn't allow food at our location, we ended up doing a cake and volcano party at a Rainforest cafe in the same mall after...I gave out goody bags only because it would keep them occupied at the restaurant...

The Bear they get would certainly be considered enough...

My daughter's doing a Libby Lu birthday party (6 yrs old) this Saturday, and we picked the Pooch Parlor option, where they get a dog or cat, and dress them also. They also get a make-up goody bag. I figured that was enough, especially at $35 per girl!

my dd will be 7 may 11th. im glad its a friday so she can have it that nite. i hate dealing with bab on sat:scared1: we chose $20 a person, so a $10 bear and a $10 outfit. we are only having 6 girls though. i am thinking of making it a "pretty princess bab party" and have the girls come dressed in their princess best and let them choose a disney princess or ball gown outfit for the bears. depending on which the girls pick it will bump it up to about $22 or $25 a girl.

we are going to have pizza and cake in the mall food court afterwards, a bunch of places in ours give discounts. we can put a bunch of tables together and decorate them (tablecloths, balloons etc) so i will probably have someone up there getting the table together and ordering the pizzas while we are in bab.

i saw some princess-y stuff at the $ store the other day, maybe i will make a little goody bag. its crazy how something so easy just snowballs.

BTW...we LOVE libby lu, but the closest one is to far to expect people to drive to and i would hate driving that far with other peoples kids.

We did a BAB for my step daughter's 6th birthday. We didn't do goody bags b/c they were getting the bear and the outfit. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but when I was little we went people's houses and were excited just to have some birthday cake. I got a pencil at my cousin's birthday once...that was pretty thrilling!!

I felt that we didn't need to "over gift" the girls at the party. I was even more sure after I heard one of the little girls say that she had four of these "birthday party bears" at home and that they weren't as good as the "regular" build-a-bears. I'm often repulsed by how spoiled kids seem to be these days. *sigh* it's discouraging.

don't feel like you have to go overboard. You are giving a great party where the guests get a really nice favor in the end. That should be more than enough!:thumbsup2

I didn't do BAB but last year I did a pottery place for my dd where each kid got to paint a piece of pottery.

I did give a goodie bag because they had to fire up the pottery & the kids didn't get them for a few days.

This year my dd is having one at a horse farm so while the kids are taking turns riding, I am thinking of having them paint a flower pot & then we will plant a flower in it (I am crazy to have 3, 4, 5 & 6 yo's doing that).

I am not doing a goodie bag because their gift will be their pot they painted. But I may do a candy bar-make a wrapper & put it on the bar but I am not sure yet & it depends on how much time I have.

So at BAB as a parent of an invited guest I would not expect one.

I would never expect one at any party, don't think most parents would. The bear is more then enough and hope that kids would appreciate it!

We didn't provide any goody bags at our daughter's 3rd birthday. I guess we figured the $25 bear was plenty.

We did one for DD and did not give out extra goodie bags. They got a bear, outfit and a few extras triinkets provided by BAB. That's one of the reasons we did it. I think kids's parties these days are getting out of hand.

We are having my daughter's 5th Birthday at BAB on Saturday. I did buy a few things for a goody bag but only because there are less than 8 children and they go with her Tinkerbell plates, etc.

DISNEYFOS, did you use the BAB at the Burlington Mall???

Dianne

I did a BaB party for my DD's 5th birthday earlier this year. We didn't do goodie bags, as we figured that the bear and outfit was the "goodie."

Since it was in the mall, we got there extra early and grabbed a long row of tables. (I had called the mall office about reserving tables, and while they couldn't reserve them for me, they told me that I could do it myself.) I decorated the tables using purple plastic tablecloths, confetti, and Tink plates and napkins. I also got balloons in green and purple and tied them to the backs of each chair. It looked so festive, and it made it really easy for the moms to find our tables in the food court. When the party was over, I sent the balloons home with the guests.

I think the bear is more than enough. Personally I think the mom that started all of this bringing tons of gifts home from a birthday party should be shot. I still dont get why going to a party and having cake and ice cream, pizza, and fun isnt enough. Can you tell I am having a birthday party tomorrow for 12yr old DD and not sure what all to put in the goody bags?

Between my 2 DDs, we have had 3 BAB parties, with a 4th scheduled for next month. We've never given out goody bags at these parties. I usually do $20 per bear and let the child chose a bear/outfit or a different bear or animal. That to me is their "goody bag". Our BAB has a party room that you can reserve for cake and presents. The best part is that they clean up afterward!

You have to be on the lookout for the coupons. I almost threw our out once because there were in the deck of cards that were in the box. I just happened to look through them and there was a coupon off a purchase and a party.

Enjoy your party!!

I am having the party on May 5 which is a Saturday I wanted the 10 appointment but when I went to book it it was already taken so I got 11. Hope fully it will not be that bad.

As I was readin your post about the pizza and cake after I swear I was writting it cause that is what we are going to do. Cause our BAB does not have any place for food.

I order BAB b-day supplies from birthday express, I seen it as I was looking for cheetah girls.

I have decide that I am not doing goody bags.

My DD had a Build-a-Bear party and I didn't give goodie bags but each kid did go home with a cookie! Each cookie was shapped like a bear, personalized and individually wrapped.

I thought that they turned out really cute!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I totally agree with you on that one!!!!:thumbsup2

My step daughter came home from a party once with a huge flip flop shaped bulletin board, a bag of "play" makeup, pretend high heels, a dress up dress, a boa, a REAL camera, a princess crown, a Vera Bradley bag full of candy and a gift certificate to have her nails done at a salon... :rolleyes2

I was always just thrilled to get to go to a friend's house for a couple of hours and have some birthday cake...:confused3
