Buh-Bye Margaritaville, Hello Shades of Green!

Yay! I'm going to be a Dis-Bride afterall!!

Had a long talk with DF yesterday, and told him getting married at Margaritaville just felt a little too informal....and not very wedding-ish, and I found out he had some of the same reservations! (yes, it really does pay to communicate!)

Soooooo, we are now getting married at the World! Still nothing too fancy, or big (still just me, DF, and two sons). Thankfully, he's (soon to be) retired military, so we can get married at the Gazebo on Shades of Green resort (across from the Poly).

I just got off the phone with them, and the Gazebo is available for our date!!

We talked about an Escape wedding....but $4500 vs $125 to rent the Gazebo was kind of a no-brainer for us....especially since it's just going to be the four of us.

If there are any other SOG brides out there, I'd love to hear from you. I need some decorating ideas for the Gazebo, if you have any pics to share, that'd be great!

Have you done a search on "Shades of Green" and "wedding" on the DIS? I know of two brides who got married there, although only one of them used the gazebo. But I bet you could also take cues from those who decorated the Wedding Gazebo at the Yacht Club.

Congrats!! It is soo pretty there! We stay there all the time when we go to disney! The italian restaurant downstairs of the lobby has great food too!! FYI!

Thanks Carrie!! I'm thrilled about this change of venue! As a compromise, we are still spending the day at Universal Studios/Island of Adventures, and our Wedding Night at Portofino Bay Resort...then on to Saratoga Springs Resort for the rest of our Disneymoon.

Thank you! I've stayed at SOG several times, and I love the location and ammenities. Never did try the italian place though...always seem to be somewhere else during dinner time! Usually make the breakfast buffet though, which is a good start to the day!

Meg Kate, my favorite!! Thanks for the dancing bananas!! I'm really psyched about being a DIS bride now!! Gregg & I'll still be celebrating at Margaritaville though! At least SOG will be closer if I find a need for my Paprazzi! I mentioned it to Gregg, and he thought it was cool that I made a friend on this site that made such a generous offer!

woo hoo for change of venue to shades of green -that is fantastic. I stayed there years ago when it was the disney inn and really really liked it then! Congrats that is wonderful! good luck with all your new plans!
