We just came home from the Fort last week. We had no issues with bugs but did have a bug zapper set up by the canal so that might have helped. We did also put bug spray on when we were hanging out at the site though again more as a precaution than anything.
What are the bugs like in July & August and any suggestions for first timers at the Fort?
Thanks for the feedback, what sort of bug zapper do you use, I have seen a variety of these at our local hardware store but not sure if they are any good or not.
1) Disney has a dislike for anything that bothers guests.
2) Therefore, from all resorts and parks, they have eliminated or eradicated
. . . most bugs
. . . most calories
. . . most cholesterol
. . . most excessive fees and costs
NOTE: Only one of the above is true. Figuring it out is up to you.

We are here now. No issues with bugs at all (& we are in a tent.) I spray the family with "Off" (not the high DEET stuff--just the light kind) and no one is bothered. If you like to cook/eat outside, you'll want a fan to blow the flies away or a screen shelter to go over your table.
I've never had a problem with bugs while thereI think Disney has taken care of this as well with

Yes diva you can hear the bats.
1) Especially, if you are a Cleveland Indians fan.
2) But, the bats are somewhat silent for a Houston fan.
. . . "and we are underway on Carnegie and Ontario" (streets) which is where Cleveland Stadium is (now).
1) The new stadium is nice.
2) But, I loved the old Municipal Stadium
. . . stone and steel
. . . could be cold and damp
3) But, it had character!
4) And, a history!
PS - We grew up in Parma and Parma Hts. It is a shame
the general public does know about Ghoulardi or Big Chuck
and Hoolihan. The Friday night horror movies were glorious.
