What are the bugs like in July & August and any suggestions for first timers at the Fort?

We just came home from the Fort last week. We had no issues with bugs but did have a bug zapper set up by the canal so that might have helped. We did also put bug spray on when we were hanging out at the site though again more as a precaution than anything.

Thanks for the feedback, what sort of bug zapper do you use, I have seen a variety of these at our local hardware store but not sure if they are any good or not.

1) Disney has a dislike for anything that bothers guests.
2) Therefore, from all resorts and parks, they have eliminated or eradicated
. . . most bugs
. . . most calories
. . . most cholesterol
. . . most excessive fees and costs

NOTE: Only one of the above is true. Figuring it out is up to you.

I will have to ask my husband as I have no clue. All I know is that it does work well for us.

It's excessive fees & costs, right? ;)

I kinda like the bugs in July and August,,they aren't quite as lean as the bugs in Sept. and Oct. but they are a lot more flavorful.

We are here now. No issues with bugs at all (& we are in a tent.) I spray the family with "Off" (not the high DEET stuff--just the light kind) and no one is bothered. If you like to cook/eat outside, you'll want a fan to blow the flies away or a screen shelter to go over your table.

Thanks, never thought of bringing a fan to keep the flies away :)

My friends in the bat houses help keep the bugs down too! Bama Ed :tiptoe:

Yes diva you can hear the bats. Sounds like they are having quite the party in there, doesnt it?

1) Especially, if you are a Cleveland Indians fan.
2) But, the bats are somewhat silent for a Houston fan.

Scupper, how did you know I grew up a Cleveland Indians fan?

I think we Indians fans hear on a frequency that only dogs can hear that transmits the sound of our tears from the past 60 years (mid-90s were a tease only).

I salute you my friend!

Bama Ed

PS - although I will say I listen to Tom Hamilton call the games on SiriusXM and I love it when he starts the game on the first pitch with "and we are underway on Carnegie and Ontario" (streets) which is where Cleveland Stadium is (now).

1) The new stadium is nice.
2) But, I loved the old Municipal Stadium
. . . stone and steel
. . . could be cold and damp
3) But, it had character!
4) And, a history!

PS - We grew up in Parma and Parma Hts. It is a shame
the general public does know about Ghoulardi or Big Chuck
and Hoolihan. The Friday night horror movies were glorious.

I grew up in Portage County as a teenager (Aurora, Mantua) and Summit County (Akron) as a kid. We used to go to Indians games in the old Muni Stadium in the early 70s (Ken Aspromonte and Frank Robinson were the managers then). I used to take my glove to catch a foul ball but never did get one. We usually went to double headers so we could catch two games for the price of one. About the 6th inning of the second game, my dad would look around (less than 10,000 in that big stadium) and say, "hey let's leave now to beat the traffic".

I love the taste of a stadium hot dog. And the wind blowing in from Lake Erie.

These were my memories.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki13rw7SsHo

PS - Harry Doyle and Monte ????? were no Herb Score and Joe Tait....

PPS - I am sorry for getting us horribly :offtopic:
