Bugs @ WDW???

Hi everyone,

I'm new to forums but have been reading them for well over a year now. I appreciate all the wonderful information people share to make our short vacations as seamless as possible. I went last year in late Sept/early October and loved every minute of it. I thank everyone again for sharing your highs and lows of your precious times with family and friends; it's made my vacation planning so much easier. I don't think there is another site like this for any vacation spot in the world.
I'll be going again this year (Sept 6-12) with my brother and I've been scouring the boards to find out about those bugs (black and red flying insects?). It's funny that I haven't seen anyone mention of them when last year I saw so many people complaining about them. I don't know if it was mating season or what, but I was wanting to know if they come around the same time every year and in the same numbers (lotta bugs).

Unfortunately they come back every year. A science project gone horribly wrong!

They do come twice a year, mostly in May and September. Other than they can ruin the paint on your car if you don't wash them off, they are annoying and just harmless. I have lived in FL almost all of my life and here we don't really even think about them. Once or twice in my life I have seen many of them all together annoying people. We have worse things and worse bugs here, which I will not even mention! Also, the heat in September is still fierce...be prepared with sunscreen, hats and plenty of water! If you are expecting anything and are ready, you will have a great time!
