I don't think I have seen this asked, but I could have missed it...

What are the bugs/insects like in September? Is there a lot of them? Are there a lot of musquitoes?

Ah bugs....well its Florida...and we have bugs as big as birds...but don’t worry...Mickey is good with spraying for all sorts of things....September doesn’t have to many mosquitoes, and you should just miss Love Bug season (little black bugs...Thanks University of Florida)...So while you will see the occasional flying bug or Roach...don’t worry it come with the heat...

We have never really had a bug problem. They do a pretty good job of keeping them away. I can count on one hand the number of bugs I have seen on many trips.

Every time I've gone to FLorida, everyone always says, "Pack your bug repellent -- the mosquitos are the size of 747's!" I've brought some each time, and not once have I had to use it. I agree, they must spray really good around the resorts. The only thing I saw last time we stayed on property were these huge grasshoppers, which were cool! :butterfly

Sept 2004 was a good time to see the little Anoles (aka sold as chamelons in pet stores). They were all over after all the hurricanes going thru..

very few bugs that I can remember, well except at the Bugs Life 3D :rotfl:

The only place on property where I continually get bit is at MGM studios. If it isn't a mosquito, it's a fire ant. They love me. I've been told they are attracted to sweat and dark clothes.

We've never really had any bug problems in the World although when i was younger and we stayed at Fort Wilderness, the campout with Chip and Dale was cancelled due to the excessive amount of mosquitoes. That was in mid September.

I only saw 1 bug once in my room at POP in 09/04, don't know if it was a roach cuz it was in the sink and it ran back down the drain before i could get a good look. i ran hot water down the drain and closed it. closed the tub drain too and put a little bit of water in it. Mousekeeping would open them back up again lol but i didn't see anything other than that 1 incident. Lots of those little lizards though. Thought there was a geico convention in town LMAO :rotfl:

DH & I were just commenting on the lack of flies at both WDW and USO. Would be a nice Discovery Channel documentary!

Hello! This was the first time I got eaten alive and it was at night waiting by Splash Mountain for DD and DH. Maybe because of the water..........

I went in late August-Early September and the bugs were horrible. I don't know if I am staying at the same WDW as you guys, but I always see tons of bugs in the summer months, and spiders as well. I get eaten alive by mosquitos, and also got a bad set of chigger bites when I went horseback riding at FW. OFF deep woods works best for me, but bugs may not be too bad if you are going mid or late Sep. Early september was really bad for bugs! Trip was one of my faves, but the bugs were truly everywhere (everyone at the bus stops complained about i-so it wasn't just me)!

We went last Aug 21-26 and never even saw a FLY! Tons of lizards, but no bugs. Ususally, in Pittsburgh in the summer, you can see hoards of insects flying around light fixtures, porch lights, lamp posts, etc. at night. However, when we were at Disney last August we didn't see ANYTHING even around light fixtures at night. Thought I was in the Twilight Zone of NonBuggness.

It's actually not as bad as you'd think it would be. I HATE HATE bugs so much. But I usually go in august/early september and there really aren't many bugs. Maybe at night when you are eating outside you may see on or two.
I only had one bad year where my legs got eaten alive by mosquitos!!!

I go a lot and got bitten for the first time ever in June by a deer fly. The thing hurt like heck, got sooo itchy and swollen, and I still have a mark where it bit me.
I was at the MK right outside of City Hall.

When is Love Bug season? We were there once when they were doing their thang, but can't remember if it was late Aug or early Sept.
