Hi This year we are on a tighter budget then usual and we are bringing an extra teen. So We have Five adults according to Disney Pricing.

I'm Looking for help on Dinning Buffets 1st . We love 1900 park Fair and Cape May. We will do them at least once. My question is has any one found a Breakfast buffet off site that would compare to the same quality as Disney with out the $18.00 price tag.

Next Good sit down Dinner options off site. We tried a couple of steak places last year but. The Steak wasn't great Quality. And I say What good is an inexpensive meal if the food isn't good. Part of our Vaction is going out to eat at a nice place at the end of the Day.

Thanks for all your help in advance

Jack

Try Fort Wilderness for Breakfast, Lunch OR Dinner. I like it for lunch as a nice down time from MK.

I like Bahama Breeze near Downtown Disney for a decent meal.

I totally second RobinMarie's choices!...especially the convenience and price value of Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Their buffet seems to have something that totally satisfies everyone. If you do breakfast you can take the boat to MK for the day...or take the boat to MK and then the monorail to the TTC if you're going someplace else. We love doing that!

Breakfast used to be a bargain...don't know what the prices are now. I'll check and edit this if I get a chance.

Off-site on 192 there is every chain known to mankind if you have a favorite...i.e. Olive Garden, Chili's, Red Lobster, Smokey Bones, Golden Corral, Waffle House...and if your teens like Krispy Kremes, there's a store making them (we buy a box and eat them hot) on 192 right across the street from "the big orange" between milemarker 10 and 11.

Lol...we stop at the "big orange" first and get a gallon of fresh squeezed orange juice (we bring our own cups) and then buy a couple of boxes of donuts to eat on the ride over to Disney. The teens love this! We do this once or twice a trip. In our family you are required to eat an apple or a banana along with the donuts and juice. Total cost for this breakfast for 2 adults and 3 teens...less than $13...might be closer to $20 for 2 adults and 5 teens...

For what is really the best breakfast buffet (daily) in the area try Solaris in the Orlando Marriott World Center. It is $14.95 including both juice and coffee. They have about 70 feet of serving area. It includes eggs, pancakes and waffles to order, smoked salmon, Parma ham, about ten types of fruit, etc.

We just went in December and ate at Crystal Palace and at Golden Corral (next to Marriott Village). The Crystal Palace breakfast was about $18 or $19 per person--Golden Corral was less than $6 per person including a drink. We all felt that the food at this Golden Corral location rivaled the food at the Disney breakfast buffet, and we certainly enjoyed our meal there knowing we had paid a third of what the other meal was!

I think the buffet over at Fort Wilderness runs about $10 per person for breakfast.

Hi, I don't have a good off site place but I wanted to second the 1900 park fare dinner, it was an awesome experience!! lol

Are you referring to - there are many in Orlando. Is it the one on Vineland Ave.? Thanks for the info - we'll be traveling with 5 adults and 2 kids so this sounds great for us.

The Golden Corral we enjoy is the one next to Marriott Village off of #535. It's very clean, and the food is great! We have eaten at the one off of #192, and we thought the food quality poor, and the restaurant was dirty. There just seemed to be a world of difference to us between the two locations, and we visited them both within a week of each other. JMHO...

We tried Whistle Junctionon International Drive. The food was great. Lots of variety, When we went at lunch it was $6.99 and supper was $10. Woth every penny, at noon they had chicken grilled to your specs, a pasta bar that they prepared as you requested ans with whatever type of pasta or sauce that you wanted. The dessert bar was the best variety that I had seen at a buffet, real cheesecake, pecan pie, at least six diffrentn types of cakes, puddings, both cooked and not, fruit crumbles, candy, ice cream bar. I was in heaven. Now I'm paying for it, I guess I went overboard with the desserts. They even have hamburgers, tacos, any fresh rolls. We thought it was wonderful, but we were staying at the Sheraton Studio City and it was within walking distance, so that was a bonus.

We've been to the one off 192 also and vowed never again - I completely agree, it was dirty and the service (what little was needed) was awful. We'll certainly try this other one though!

but the buffet dinner at Baskerville's (in the Grovesner Resort-DTD hotels) was delicious both times we had it. It was 18+ per adult, but we got 50% off the food portion of the bill with the Entertainment Book card. We went on Fri night, when they have a seafood buffet. It was not very large, but the choices were fresh and yummy. They also used to have a piano player on Fri. after a certian time. On Sat nights, they have a Mystery Murder Dinner.

We ate at Baskerville's during the Christmas holidays and used the 50% coupon too. I thought the buffet was very good and the dessert bar was nice too! I would go back there again, especially for 50% off.

As far as feeding teens on the cheap, I think you really can't beat CiCi's pizza over off of Palm Parkway. We've been there several times. For $3.99 for all the pizza, salad, pasta and dessert you can eat, it's a great deal! Their cinnamon rolls are yummy! I've been to other CiCi's locations, but this one was clean and the food was fresh and good. They will cook any pizza you would like if it's not already out on the buffet. Their staff was so friendly!

Off site--my hubby LOVES Pizzaria Uno on 192. If we had to eat off site--that is where he would go. Didn't catch the ages of your kids--but at one time, kids meal prices were based on how much they weighed. So my near 5yo could eat for 40 cents!

Breakfast Buffets--in a word....IMHO....I have found NOTHING off site that is comparable to on-property. We even tried the Grosvenor's character breakfast and it was dreadful. There is just something unique about what Disney does at their buffet breakfasts that is comparable to what we find on Easter Sundays in my neck of the woulds (except not necessarily a carving station).

Trail's End is a superb nomination for a budget buffet offering on property--absolutely yummy!

I've never had Golden Corral for breakfast--but have for lunch...so I would be willing to say trust the other posters tips on this place for breakfast. Their lunch/dinner buffets are phenomenal.

I would avoid the buffet place that is near the Marriot---down the road from it...It isn't sizzler, but another chain--it was AWFUL. My hubby tried to tell me it would be, but I didn't believe him. It was complete slop. If I remember the name, I will post it.

Keep in mind that the traffic going off property can be hectic, so you must account for this when making your plans for breakfast.

If there is a cracker barrell nearby and off-property is a must do...I would definitely include a stop by them.

I second Solaris !!

We have been to Disney 9 out of the last 11 years and I have to say we go to Solaris at least twice every time. The breakfast is the best I have had in Orlando. It really puts all others including Disney to shame.

They have so many stations to include the following:

1. Cold/hot cereals, granola, dried fruits, milks, yogurts
2. Fresh fruits at least 5 (watermelon, oranges, canteloupe, honeydew, strawberries with fresh whipped cream.
3. Hot station that has pancakes, waffles, sausages, bacon, home fries, scrambled eggs.
4. Then theres the omelet station along with a carving station.
5. Theres another hot section that has stuff like corned beef hash, blintzes and blueberry sauce as well as strawberry sauce for ontop. A hot pasta dish that changes from day to day.
6. The next staion had lox and bagels assorted cheeses and other stuff that would go with Lox.
7. Bread station that had bagels, breads, muffins, toast and Krispy Creme donuts.
8. They have eggs benedict that is made to order. You just have to ask the waitress for them.
9. Along with a carafe of hot coffee and fresh OJ and other juices.

After eating at Solaris, I dont want to even think about eating until dinner time. :rotfl:

Also every time my family have gone we have always had such nice wait staff.

Try it. You won't be disappointed :cool1: :cool1:

Sewallmom
6 days until I eat at Solaris and then play at Mickey's house of mouse. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
