Hi all,

Wondering about the Dream breakfast spots. I know that Cabanas is buffet but I was wondering what they serve at enchanted garden or royal palace for breakfast and lunch?

We ate in the dining room one morning during our Dream cruise last September, and it was table service. It was very good, but it did take up some time.

Lunch is a buffet with beverages served at the table. There is less selection than at Cabanas. The ice cream was DD's favorite. We found the overall selection to be good; there was just more at Cabanas. On the Fantasy, it will sometimes be a themed buffet (Italian, Asian, Seafood, etc). Never ate breakfast at EG.

Frankly, breakfast isn't amazing anywhere. We did like the sit down at Royal better than Cabanas, but it still isn't as good as several years ago. The food seems to have been sitting in warmers rather than fresh.

We were on the Fantasy, so I'm not sure if it's the same. We ate at Enchanted Garden for breakfast one morning and it was buffet. I think they had more variety at the actual buffet and after this we just went up there for breakfast for the rest of the cruise. Royal Palace did have table service for breakfast, but the menu didn't intrigue us enough to try it.

We found EG to have less variety at lunch and breakfast also than Cabanas, even at the embarkation lunch. DD, who isn't picky, didn't see much that she would eat there, so we moved up to Cabanas the first day for lunch.

Royal Palace will be open for a sit down breakfast & lunch each day (except embarkation day), but the hours are limited so make sure to check the Navigator.

more selection at cabanas and it takes a lot less time then sit down btw go rochester :)

I always go to the buffet for breakfast so I can get my bacon fix. I look forward all year to eating all the bacon I want. :yay:

When I'm in restaurants and ask for extra bacon they look at me funny. They also have no idea what extra bacon is. Hey, 3 more pieces? Really??? Very funny. Now give me the tray. :lmao:

Thanks everyone for the input. :thumbsup2

I think we may try it once, but knowing my family, it will probably be cabanas most of the time!

I know that's right! When I make bacon for breakfast for the 3 of us I make the whole package so we have to limit it to once a week so I don't give my 4-year old a heart-attack. Our cat even loves bacon!

Sorry we're highjacking your threat OP. Maybe we should have a new thread for bacon lovers on the DCL. :lmao:

Just wanted to add that when we went on the Carnival Dream a year or so ago they were doling out the bacon FOR us. He would give me two under-cooked pieces. When I asked for more he gave me one piece! He was NOT willing to give it up!

That was a serious bummer for that whole cruise. It seriously ruined cruise breakfasts for me. If Disney starts holding out on me I don't know what I'll do.

We ate (table service) breakfast at Royal Palace on the Dream after our dinner tablemates suggested it. That was my favorite breakfast of the trip (and I LOVE a breakfast buffet, so that's saying something!) The food was fantastic, and they were happy to accomodate a special order for my toddler son. We plan to try a mix of everything on the Fantasy next week!
