I know, from after the Goofy in 07, that I will be ravenous after the marathon and want to find a good lunch buffet. Are there any suggestions either inside the parks or at resorts where I can eat till I am full?

I thought the buffet at Boma in AKL was fabulous. Lots of meat for protein to repair those muscles. Plenty of veggie dishes too. Depends on where you're staying I guess, it might be a long haul to get there.

Good luck.

Thanks Cindy,

I actually came up with Boma as the most likely choice. I am staying at BWV but will have a car so getting there is no problem. I am however open for additional suggestions.

We ate at the Biergarten buffet in the Germany pavilion at Epcot on our last trip and really enjoyed it. That's the only buffet I've tried on property so far.

There are breakfast buffets at the Cape May Cafe (character meal) in the Beach Club and the Captains Grille (no characters) at the Yacht Club. Pretty standard breakfast fare, but you can certainly stuff yourself.

Thanks Dave, If I can finish the marathon, get back to my room and shower before breakfast is over I will be one fast happy runner. I should clarify that I am looking at lunch buffets and so far Boma appears to be my choice.

Isn't it sad that I am going to be running the Goofy and the biggest thing I am thinking about is stuffing my face when I am done?

I think Boma is the best buffet on property. I love the food and the atmosphere. If you are looking for similar food inside the parks I would look at Tusker House. The food is about the same but it is in AK.

I have a friend that recently tried the Tusker House in the AK park and liked it better than Boma. I've not eaten at either so I guess I would start scanning reviews. I'm short and bald and maybe in line with you! I could hear my stomach growling at about mile 18 of my long run. I ate a triple whopper and was hungry again in 2 hours!!!!! We're going to the clam bake at Cape May Sunday night, though. Good luck!!!!!

Other than the BK thing (I haven't eaten at any of the fast food places since a food poisoning experience in 1986), we are similar - short (at least my DW calls 5'9" short), bald and hungry on the long runs. I am looking for a lunch buffet for right after the marathon but this doesn't mean I will not also be doing dinner - that search will come later.

You have 3 inches on me. 5'6"....I keep hoping for late puberty but I turn 40 in a few months. I'll stop hoping in a couple of more decades:rotfl2:

This year we made it back to the Dolphin before they put away the bagels and juice so we had that, a shower and a nap.

Later we went down to Pikabu (sp?) and had a carb filled lunch/dinner.

In the evening I had veggies and dip at the Studios, Mark had Fairfax fries.

It was not a stellar day in the diet dept but it filled the void.

Not sure what our game plan will be this time, after the 1/2 but we do have a full kitchen at the BWV so I can make my own bagels and juice.

Boma is our favorite Buffet on property, but I don't think they serve lunch. I think it's just breakfast and dinner, but I could be wrong.

Biergarten is good as we had that for dinner last year after the Marathon.
I don't think there are a ton of places that do Buffet's anymore for lunch.

I have never eaten at Boma so I can't speak on it but I have eaten at the Garden Grille in The Land twice. It is not your typical buffet in the sense that they bring the food to you as many times as you want. Then they will bring another plate (when you are ready) full of deserts. They have a fabolous cheesecake!! Anyway, I really enjoyed it.
