Hi There!

Can anyone tell me the nicest, most cost effective lodging you have stayed at close to the Buffalo airport?
We have three families going (altogerther 13 of us). Leaving October 2nd on a Jetblue 7am flight, so we will be arriving in Buffalo on October 1st.:banana::cool1::cool1:

thanks for the suggestions! :woohoo:

I always just go for cost effective and use priceline. I like to park at the airport also so we drive over in the morning.

I have gotten some nice places and a few adequate ones.

Last time we got Days Inn- adequate, time before was the Holiday inn- it has been renovated and rooms were very nice, time before that was Millinium- rooms and beds are great- just the hallways are a little rough.

We booked Millennium Hotel for September 2nd (we fly out at 7:25am on the 3rd). Their rate included up to 14 days of parking, breakfast (unlikely it'll be available before we leave) and a free shuttle to the airport.

We're staying at the Sleep Inn beside the airport Wednesday evening. They start serving breakfast at 4:30. We also are leaving on a 7:00 Jet Blue flight.

We have stayed at the Millenium, Holiday Inn, Days Inn all through Hotwire and all very nice for 1 night stay. The Millenium and HI are 3 star on hotwire and Days Inn is 2.5. We usually pay anywhere between $39-$69/night for any of these three. We are flying out this Wed at 7am and are staying at Days Inn...the rooms are very clean and comfy and there is a free breakfast plus it is directly across from the airport. All three also do a park n fly package if you're looking for that.

We love it and will stay again this Christmas before our jet blue. Very nice hotel with a great restaurant, 14 days of parking and directly across the airport.

We booked 2 rooms through Hot Wire for December 17th- got The Best Western Buffalo Airport for $54 each room- we will park at the airport. We've stayed there before and found it fine- clean although small rooms, fair breakfast (waffles, fruit, etc )that starts very early. Airport shuttle was good the time we used park and fly.:goodvibes

Hotels we have stayed at, in order of preference:
Fairfield Inn & Suites - brand new hotel directly across from airport, can fit more people as they have rooms with 2 queen beds and pull out couches (2 tvs too!)
Holiday Inn Express - directly across from airport also - nice rooms, but pricey
Sleep Inn & Suites - Larger rooms, 2 doubles and a pull out - older hotel, but early breakfast - no indoor pool for night before relaxing - just a hot tub
Millenium - good hotel for shopping (Walden Galleria parking lot) but not on the hotel strip - 2 queen or king beds
Clarion - 2 queen beds, good value, shuttle does not run 24 hours
Motel 6 - Used to be Fairfield, very basic, no shuttle, but cheap, we stayed here when nothing else was available - parked at the airport
Rodeway Inn - never again, yuck!

Do you plan on parking at the airport or using a park and fly package? Parking at the airport is very efficient. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express next week (I have enough points for a free night) then park at the airport using coupon from the airport web site.

We booked Millennium Hotel for September 2nd (we fly out at 7:25am on the 3rd). Their rate included up to 14 days of parking, breakfast (unlikely it'll be available before we leave) and a free shuttle to the airport.

We are taking the same flight the week before you - Southwest right?

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express - little more pricey than others but it is one of the few with a pool - sounds silly but with 2 boys, we often check in and then go for a swim. Parking for your stay is included (thus can take $50 really off price); they shuttle you to airport and pick you up. They used to have "happy hour" from 5-7 and "free" breakfast - if it's too early (as we usually are) - they give you a brown bag breakie to go! I don't believe this has changed!

We stayed at La Quinta for this trip - although we had no issues with the hotel if you park in a specific location they ask you to leave your keys - dh was not willing to do that so they gave us another area to park - still on site.
Next time I will be getting a hotel on hotwire and parking at the airport - we waited over an hour for the shuttle to show up last night - not a great way to end vacation when the guy at the desk when I called said 20 minutes. Every other hotel had 2 or 3 shuttles pass in the time we waited.
