So our flight is at 8am and the hotel breakfast won't be open. The kids can't wait until lunch to eat breakfast. Is anything open in the airport super early?

Also can we bring empty cups through TSA and fill once we get past security?

There's lots of things to eat early at the Buffalo airport. Go to their website and take a look at the listings they have.

We had the same problem in March for an 8 am flight. I'll be honest, the food was not appealing at all. Prices were insane for the few places that were open. I was so thankful I had made muffins and froze them at home, then brought them in Ziploc bags in my carry on. My kids couldn't find anything they wanted in the airport at all. SO I had muffins, nutri grains, a few apples and bananas in my bag in case they couldn't find anything. They ate them while we were waiting to board. Then we hit the IHOP after landing.
We are doing the same flight time on JetBlue for this March out of Buffalo, and for our Christmas trip, we are flying from Flint, Mi at 7 am. I will do the same with muffins and stuff!

What hotel are you staying at that the breakfast isn't open that early? Most of the hotels near the airport, the breakfast is open at 5:30AM specifically for people with early flights.

We have stayed at the Best Western at the airport and there is a Denny's across the parking lot. Other times we drive straight (about 1 1/2 hours from Buffalo airport) and head to the McD's drive through across the street. Still other times we eat something light then grab lunch at a restaurant at the airport before grabbing Mickey Express to the parks.

You can be at the airport as late as 45 minutes before your flight - we did that on our last trip and not by choice. So you could get up at 6am, head to Denny's then head to the airport. Not the best food in the world but less expensive and better than what is offered at the airport.

Last time we stayed at the Sleep Inn I think it started at like 4:30am

For an 8 am flight you should be there about 6:30am. I can't imagine a hotel not having their breakfast set up by 6am. Unless there is no breakfast at all.

That being said, the sandwich place is good but very $$$$.

Our hotel starts breakky @ 430am. It's why we chose it prior to our 630am flight. Is it too late for you to cancel and book Days Inn?

I need a room for 5 and Days Inn doesn't offer that. Ive got lots of time. I'll call again. Thanks!

Mcdonalds is right across the street, eat there before.
The food selection is limited and very expensive.
We usually bring muffins and stuff to eat while we wait.

We always stay at Quality inn (on genessee st) directly across the street from their airport. Their breakfast is open at the crack of dawn.
It is very reasonably prices and have had 5 in a room.

I would pack breakfast....fruit, muffins, bagels, cereal bars etc. All can be taken through security and then you can eat when you want as opposed to 6am. All you would need to do is purchase drinks....if needed.

BTW, some of the airport hotels offer take out containers so you can take breakfast with you. Something else to ask the hotel about if that's an appealing option.

We've stayed at the Sleep Inn on Holtz Dr. numerous times and the breakfast has always been open bright and early -- hours before 7am! It's one of the main reasons we enjoy staying there.
