Did you miss having a window in the living room?
Do you think you could fit a roll away bed in the bedroom? (DS would not want to sleep by himself in living room)
How did you choose between BVS and Caribe Royale? Or even between other suite hotels like Doubletree, Embassy, Staybridge, Homewood?
Thanks for your help!
We stayed here five nights in mid-July. For the price (we paid the $89 mousesavers rate), I thought it was a great hotel. The breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired, but the egg station wasn't bad. Having stayed often at Embassy Suites, I found the living room here to be considerably smaller than what we are used to. For instance, the mini-fridge/coffee area is in the cabinet that houses the television in the living area. Embassy has a separate kitchenette area and a dining table with four chairs. No table here - just a desk and chair.
We didn't miss a window in the living room, but I wasn't expecting one. I've never stayed in a hotel suite that had a window in the living room.
eta: I remembered that Embassy Suites does have a window in the living room, but it overlooks the hallway/indoor the courtyard and not the outdoors, so we always kept the curtain pulled anyway.
I'm not sure about fitting a roll away in the bedroom. If possible, it would be very tight. I would call the hotel directly to inquire about that. We had our DD5 sleep in one of the queen beds and our DD3 slept in the living room. We just left the door open. I didn't spend the whole night on the sleeper sofa, but I think I could have - it was much more comfortable than the last one I slept on at Embassy.
We chose BVS because it was $10 cheaper than CR and had free breakfast. We knew we wouldn't use the pool at CR and the rooms seemed identical. We chose it over the other suites because it had the best rate/location at the time we booked.
Overall, I was really happy with it and would stay there again.,but we moved there after three nights in a standard room at the Swan for which we paid $129/night. If given a choice, I would have spent the entire trip at the Swan. You know what they say: location, location, location! (Plus, the customer service at the Swan was incredible!)
Let me know if you have any other questions.
